Mr White works in an office. He’s very busy and has no time to have a good rest. Every evening, when he comes back from his office, he’s always tired and wants to go to bed early. But his wife often has a lot of interesting things to tell him after dinner. She doesn’t stop talking until she falls asleep (入睡). But it’s usually too late and Mr White has to get up early in the morning when she is still sleeping.
One day Mr White felt terrible and couldn’t go to work. He decided to go to see a doctor. Mrs White went to the hospital with him. Before her husband said what was the matter with him, the woman told the doctor all. The doctor wrote out a prescription (處方). When Mrs White took the medicine to the doctor’s room, the doctor said to her, “The bottle of medicine is for your husband and the pills (藥片) are for you. ”

Do you get angry when your friends sing loudly while you are trying to work or when your best friend does not wait for you after school?
If you do, you need to take control of your feelings. Getting angry with others can cause you to lose friends.
Gary Egeberg, an American high school teacher, has written My Feelings Are Like Wild Animals to help you control your feelings. It tells how to stay cool when bad things happen.
The book says that getting angry only makes problems worse. It can never make them better.
“Getting angry is not a natural way to act,” the book says. It is just a bad habit, like smoking.

Danny was just tired about the way things were going. His mum came to school and talked on and on about Rick Jackson. It seemed that she would never stop talking. “Somebody’s got to stop that boy!” she was shouting. “Rick’s troubling everybody in the neighborhood. And he loves to pick on little boys like Danny.”
Mrs. Green, Danny’s teacher, was concerned a lot. “I didn’t know that Danny was being picked on,” she said. “He’s never said anything about this to me!” Mrs. Green looked at Danny. “How long had this been going on?” she asked. Danny could only shake his head and look at the floor. He knew if he said a word about this, he would have trouble at school.
Danny hadn’t said anything about the problem because he wanted to do things with the boys in the neighborhood. After all, most of them were nice to him. He hated to leave the gang just because of Rick. Maybe the time had come to find new friends. He felt it hard to make up his mind.
