It seems to be strange to you there is a blind spot (盲點(diǎn))on the eyes. Here is an interesting experiment (實(shí)驗(yàn)) that can make something disappear(消失) when one eye is open.
Make a card which is as big as a postcard, and write two English letters L and R on it. Write L on the left and R on the right. First, hold the card about 80 cm(厘米) away and you see both the letters. Then close your right eye and look at the letter R only with your left eye. And now, as you move the card slowly towards you, you’ll find the letter L disappearing. But if you move the card nearer to your face, the letter will be seen again. Now do the same experiment with your left eye closed, you’ll find the letter R disappearing.
Why does the letter disappear? It is because there is a blind spot on the eye. When the image (影像) of the letter falls on the blind spot, it won’t be seen. That is why either of the letters disappears.
小題1: Where should we write the two letters?
小題2:Which letter should be written on the left?
小題3:Which eye do you close when R disappear?
小題4:What will happen if the image (影像) of the letter falls on the blind spot?
小題5:.Do all people know that there is a blind spot (盲點(diǎn))on their eyes?

小題1:On a card
小題2:L
小題3:Left eye.
小題4:It won’t be seen.
小題5:No.

試題分析:這篇短文主要介紹了人的眼睛上有個(gè)盲點(diǎn)。這件事很少有人知道。作者通過介紹試驗(yàn),證明了這一現(xiàn)象。
小題1:根據(jù)第二段Make a card which is as big as a postcard, and write two English letters L and R on it.可知把兩個(gè)字母寫在了卡片上,故填On a card
小題2:根據(jù)第二段Write L on the left and R on the right.故填L
小題3:根據(jù)第二段可知當(dāng)你閉上右眼,字母L就會(huì)消失,所以如果你閉上左眼,字母R就會(huì)消失,故填Left eye.
小題4:根據(jù)When the image (影像) of the letter falls on the blind spot, it won’t be seen.故填 It won’t be seen.
小題5:根據(jù)第一段有盲點(diǎn)對(duì)于你來說是奇怪的可知不是所有的人都知道這件事,故回答No.

Now students’ English handwriting(書法)gets worse and worse. That makes their teachers feel worried. Is your English handwriting beautiful? If not, here are four steps that really work!
Using paper with lines(線條) can keep you writing straight instead of up or down when you write English words or sentences. Those lines on the paper can help you to write words in the right size. Be sure to fill the lined space completely.
If your writing is hard to read, try slowing down a little. For some kids, going slower makes the handwriting clear. If you write too fast, it’s hard for you to stop where you should, and even worse, you may make more mistakes.
When you hold your pencil the correct way, writing is much easier. Try to be relaxed and don’t hold the pencil so hard while writing, and then it makes your handwriting nice and clean. If you do so, people will guess you are a student with a good habit.
Drawing can improve your handwriting. You need to use the skills to control(控制) your pencil better when you are drawing pictures. Even though you have no chance to draw at school, you can practice by yourself at home.

Once at the end of the term, we had to take an important test in Chinese. The test had 100 questions. Beside each question we had to write “True” or “False”. While I was studying in my room, Fred was watching TV. Fred usually worried a lot the night before a test. But on that night he looked very e   . Then he told me of his idea.
“It’s very simple. There are 100 questions and I have to get 50 right to pass the test. I will take a coin into the examination room. I haven’t studied a Chinese book for months, so I will toss (拋) the coin. In this way, I’m sure I’ll get h    of the questions right.”

小題1: If the only sports you do are dancing your fingers across your keyboard, you could be in serious danger of more than just becoming fat!
Do you feel sleepy, like something is weighing down on your head? Do you feel forgetful? Do you sometimes feel uncomfortable up and down your neck and lower back, and you can’t explain why? Do you get sick often? It could be radiation(輻射) from your computer causing it. If you spend three hours or more a day in front of a computer, (and at this point, who doesn’t?) you are more easily harmed by these hazards(危害).
小題2:We have got so used to using computers that we don’t often think of them as dangerous sources(來源) of harmful(有害的) radiation. A safe amount radiation is 25 V/m(Volts/meter). Do you want to guess how much our personal computers give off?
★ Keyboard: 1000 V/m      ★Mouse: 450V/m    ★Monitor: 218 V/m
★CPU: 170V/m          ★Notebook computers: 2,500 V/m
Ways to Protect Yourself from Harmful Computer Radiation:
1. Decorate your desk with cactus(仙人掌) plants, they take in radiation.
2. Drink two to three cups of green tea a day and eat an orange daily. The vitamins in tea leaves and oranges protect us from radiation and keep our eyes healthy as well.
3. Use a screen filter(過濾器) for your monitor.
4. Avoid having metal objects nearby on your desk.
5. Put the back of the computer to the wall. Most of the radiation comes off the back.
6. Keep your monitor at least 50cm away from your face.
7. Keep your computer rooms ventilated(空氣流通的).
8. Eat healthily—especially fruits and vegetables.
9. Don’t fall asleep on your computer. Turn it off if you have to rest nearby.

More Chinese migrant workers (進(jìn)城務(wù)工人員) bring their children to the city for better education, rather than leaving them behind in the countryside.
Luo Yong, who has worked hard for 9 years as a worker in Nanchang, Jiangxi's capital city, finally managed to find a seat for his son at a well-known primary school in the city.
In September, the boy was sent into a crowded first-grade classroom at the primary school which belongs to Nanchang University.
"Whatever the cost, I want my son to live a better life than mine— better schooling and better work in the city," says 32-year-old Luo.
"I was not well educated, and that's why I can only find low-paid jobs here," he adds.
The move by a growing number of migrant workers to take their children to cities has led to losses of students for schools in the countryside.
Located 35 kilometers away from Nanchang, the Dazhuang Village Primary School in Luo's hometown has seen the number of its students drop by more than half in the past four years, according to Principal Xiong Guilian.
With 22 students now, the school has been changed into a “teaching spot(教學(xué)點(diǎn))” that only offers the first three grades. Most rooms in the two-floor schoolhouse are left unused. “Every time a new term starts, I find a few children missing because they have been taken to the town or city by their parents,” Xiong says, describing her feeling as “bittersweet”.
