An Australian zoologist(動物學家) brought two monkeys from Amazon. One was very strong; the other was a little weak. He put them in two cages（籠子）,feeding them carefully and watching their living habits every day. A year later, to his surprise, the big monkey died with no reason. In order to research, he had another brought from Brazil. This one was bigger than the dead one, but it died in less than half a year. While those monkeys who are good at staying in the sunlight and refreshing(使......恢復) their spirit by closing their eyes are different because they don’t get on well with others, few of those monkeys can share the others’ food. This kind of monkeys grows smaller and weaker; however, they can live longer after they are caught.

The zoologist later concluded(做結(jié)論) that , for monkeys, the life short of communications is a defect( 缺失）while the life short of being alone is a disaster(災難).
