What is your favourite cartoon? It may be hard for you to decide. But for pianist Lang Lang, “Tom and Jerry” is the best one.

When Lang was two years old, he saw Tom playing the piano. This was his first time to enjoy western music and this encouraged(鼓舞) him to learn to play the piano.

His talent(天賦) at the keyboard has taken him from Shenyang to the world. Lang became a good piano student at three. In 1997, the 15-year-old boy studied at a famous American music college(學(xué)院).

Now, he is one of the most popular pianists, but the road to success(成功) is not easy. Lang's father stopped his job to look after him, while his mother stayed in Shenyang to make money. Answer the questions(根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答下列問(wèn)題)

The baby is taking photos with his parents, the Duke and Duchess (公爵和公爵夫人) of Cambridge. The pictures were taken by the duchess’ father, Michael Middleton, in the garden of their family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire. Taken earlier this month, they show the royal ,couple, Prince George and their black cocker spaniel (西班牙獵犬), Lupo. Tilly, a golden dog, belonging to the Middleton family, can be seen lying down behind them. The photographs of Prince George, who was born on 22 July, were published by Kensington Palace.

On Monday Prince William, giving his first interview since becoming a father, told CNN:

“He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger, I’m not sure, but he*s doing very well at the moment.”

BBC reporter Nicholas Witchell said the new family looks “unselfconscious (自然的), relaxed and happy - much like most couples might look with their first-born baby”. He added: “Of course they’re aware of what’s expected of them. There will be staff - a nanny (保姆) to help in

due course (適時(shí)地), but for the moment it’s all rather informal and many might think, refreshing.”

Famous photographer Terry O’Neill said he thought the pictures were “absolutely charming”.

“It reminded me when I first started photography for myself - I just went for the light, and it was really interesting lighting (打燈光). As a matter of fact when I heard about these pictures, I thought ‘Who have they got to do these pictures’ - and the thought crossed my mind they might have asked the Queen because she’s quite a good photographer.”

The cultural and education manager of Magnum Photos, Fiona Rogers, told Radio 4’s Today program the photograph of the couple and Prince George with the family’s dogs was “technically not the most accomplished (技藝高超的) photograph”.

“It’s a photograph that any one of us could have in our family albums,” she said.

Is your TV connected to the Internet? What about your chair or your fridge? It is possible that they are not. But in the future, most things in your home may be connected, as the so-called "Internet of things" is developing.

The Internet of things may be coming sooner than you think. It is reported that during his speech earlier this year, Samsung CEO(首席執(zhí)行官) BK Yoon spent a lot of time talking about the Internet of things. He said that five years from now, every Samsung product will be part of the Internet of things, whether it's a washing machine or a vacuum cleaner(吸塵器).

So, how do household(家用) objects that are part of Internet of things work? Well, think of a usual chair. When connected to the Internet, the chair warms up when it knows that the user has just walked into the room and is feeling cold.

An Internet-connected camera, like a smart-home camera, could help people feel safer in their homes. It can recognize(識(shí)別) people's faces, and even can see when someone passes by in the dark. Then it can send you a message on your smartphone to let you know who's there. If the person is someone you don't know, it can tell you that, too.

But according to MIT Technology Review, whether companies are connecting dog food bowls or security(安全) systems to the Internet, there may be problems. For example, many early connected-home devices(裝置) don't have much built-in security, which means they could be hacked(被黑客攻擊). In addition, it could be difficult to get these devices to work together because they are made by different companies. To fight this, many companies have joined the Open Interconnect Consortium, which had 45 members by late 2014.

So, picture this: you walk in through the front door of your home. The temperature changes to make you feel comfortable after a long day at school. Your favorite music starts playing for you. Do you think that this would be a good thing? It may happen sooner than you think.

1.The Samsung CEO's speech is mentioned to prove that_____.

A. the Internet of things will appear in our daily life sooner

B. Samsung has produced the Internet of things recently

C. Samsung products have been part of the Internet of things

D. he spent a lot of time talking about the Internet of things

2.We can infer(推斷)from paragraphs 3 and 4 that _____________.

A. the chair can know whether the user feels cold or not

B. a usual chair can warm up when it knows the user comes in

C. an Internet-connected camera can be used to take photos in the house

D. an Internet-connected camera can be connected to the user's smartphone

3.According to the passage, it is mentioned that_____

①the temperature inside is neither too high nor too low

②your fridge provides the drinks for you

③the chair warms up if you feel cold

④your favourite music starts playing

⑤your washing machine starts working

A.①②⑤ B.②③④ C.①③④ D.①④⑤

4.What's the problem about the Internet of things?

A. Companies which produce connected-home devices haven't joined together.

B. Connected-home devices may not work together and can easily get hacked.

C. Companies have difficulty connecting security system to the Internet.

D. These new devices are produced by different companies.

5.What is the main idea of the passage?

A. How to product the Internet of things.

B. The introduction to use the Internet of things.

C. The way of connecting the Internet of things.

D. The Internet of things is coming in the future.
