Here is a step-by-step process of planning your child’s birthday party. If you follow these steps, the party will be a success.
First, set the time and the place of the party. When you pick the time and the place, remember to consider the weather and the schedule of the children being invited. Also keep you budget (預(yù)算) in mind. If your child wants to go to a theme park, that may not be realistic. However, a party in a park might be in the budget.
Then make a guest list with your child. Find out how many people he or she wants to invite. Also, depending on how simple or elaborate (復(fù)雜的) in the party will be, the guest list may be small or rather large.
Third, make a reservation if necessary. It is important to make a reservation a bit earlier to make sure that the place of the party can be kept. But if you are going to a park or having it in your house, it’s clear that a reservation will be unnecessary.
Fourth, it is time to pick a theme for the party. Discuss with your child and try to pick something that your child loves. Allow him or her to be a part of planning the party.
Now plan and make a food list. If the party is going to be a one-day event, the list will be more extensive (廣泛的). If it only lasts a couple of hours, some snacks along with cake and ice-cream will do.
Party games and prizes are the last. Once again discuss with your child and see if he or she has ideas. Plan some games that will work well with the place of the party. Pick prizes that are suitable for the age group of your child.

本段開頭句是本段中心句,根據(jù)“It is important to make a reservation a bit earlier to make sure that the place of the party can be kept.”
根據(jù)第二段可知,并未提到貴的酒店,因此A選項(xiàng)是錯(cuò)誤的;根據(jù)第三段“…the guest list may be small or rather large.”可知名單可以是小的,也可以是大的,因此B選項(xiàng)是錯(cuò)誤的;根據(jù)“If the party is going to be a one-day event, the list will be more extensive (廣泛的).”可知如果派對(duì)要持續(xù)一整天,就要準(zhǔn)備大量食物,是有限定條件的,因此C選項(xiàng)是錯(cuò)誤的;根據(jù)“Plan some games that will work well with the place of the party. Pick prizes that are suitable for the age group of your child.”
根據(jù)“If your child wants to go to a theme park, that may not be realistic. However, a party in a park might be in the budget.”可知公園派對(duì)更劃算些,因此A選項(xiàng)是錯(cuò)誤的;文中并未提到簡(jiǎn)單的派對(duì)在孩子們中更受歡迎,因此B選項(xiàng)是錯(cuò)誤的;C選項(xiàng)“為了使派對(duì)更好,對(duì)父母來說,和孩子一起準(zhǔn)備很重要”;D選項(xiàng)“當(dāng)為孩子策劃生日派對(duì)的時(shí)候,父母應(yīng)該單獨(dú)完成”,根據(jù)“Allow him or her to be a part of planning the party.”
本文開頭總領(lǐng)全文,是文中的中心,根據(jù)“Here is a step-by-step process of planning your child’s birthday party.” 故選A。

Some people believe that greed(貪婪) and selfishness has become the main theme of modern society, and we should return to the old traditions of family and community in order to have a better life.
In this fast –paced(快節(jié)奏的) world, many values are experiencing great changes. While people traditionally caring, sharing and generosity the most important things in life and work, modern people seem to be more self-centered.
Modern people act selfishly to survive the highly competitive world. To survive, you have to fight with whatever ways you can think of. Obviously greed and selfishness go perfectly well with such ideas. In a company, workers do everything they can to get better pay and higher position, even if it means their workmates will lose a lot because of this. They are not born cold-blooded; it is just that people are pressured to act in a certain way because of outside influences.
To be honest, it is hard to say that modern society is built on greed and selfishness, both of which are not newly invented vocabulary. In ancient times people also did greedy and selfish things though such behaviors were more seriously punished then. But we can’t be blind to the fact that people in the past faced less pressure compared with the modern environment.
Are we happier to share with others and be generous to them? There is no fixed answer either. Some people take great pleasure helping and giving to others while others feel happy doing the opposite. But I personally think that people should not be too selfish. Caring for others can actually encourage the development of a win-win relationship.

【1】 are changing. | In the past people put caring, sharing and generosity in the first 【2】. They would be punished seriously for greedy behaviors. Nowadays, people seem to think more about themselves. They act selfishly even if they may cause heavy 【3】 to their workmates. |

【題目】 A new Chinese coronavirus (冠狀病毒), a cousin of the SARS virus, has infected more than 40,000people since the outbreak (爆發(fā)) began in Huanan Seafood Market, Wuhan, China, in December. At first, we knew little about this virus. With more researches going on, we get to learn more about it.
Coronaviruses are a large group of viruses that are common among animals. In rare cases, they are what scientists call zoonotic (人畜共患病), meaning they can be transmitted from animals to humans, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is believed that the novel coronavirus spreads from human contact with animals. Bats are widely believed to be carriers of the latest strain of the disease.
Chinese researchers said on Friday that the endangered pangolin (穿山甲) may be the intermediate host between bats and humans.
The viruses can make people sick, usually with a mild(輕度) to moderate(中度) upper respiratory tract illness(上呼吸道疾病), similar to a common cold, including a runny nose, cough, sore throat, possibly a headache and maybe a fever, which can last for a couple of days. For those with a weakened immune system, the elderly and the very young, there's a chance the virus could cause deadly diseases.
What's horrible about this virus is that once a human is infected, he/she becomes a carrier of the virus and spreads it to more people by coughing, sneezing or even handshaking. The virus can also be transmitted (傳播) by touching something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes. Doctors and nurses may also catch the disease when taking care of the patients, so they are required to wear strict protective clothes.
Unfortunately, there are no disease-specific treatments for the disease at this stage, which makes the outbreak a challenging one to control. Besides, since we live in an interconnected world, where the situation in one country can affect the whole world, the influences of the novel coronavirus are huge-damaging trade relations, affecting foreign visitors and weakening the entire country.
To fight against the disease, as individuals, we should strictly follow the requirements of the government to stay at home and help to prevent the spread of the disease. In terms of the government, a strong health care system can surely help decrease the risk of health attack and lessen the impact of the disease.
【1】How many people have been affected since the outbreak of the new Chinese coronavirus?
【2】Where does the novel coronavirus come from according to the researchers?
【3】What symptoms (癥狀) may people have when they are affected?
【4】Why are doctors and nurses required to wear strict protective clothes?
【5】What is the main idea of the last paragraph?
