【題目】—Mum, I failed in the English test last week.

—That’s not an important test. _______.

A.Take it easyB.Don’t take it to heart

C.Not at allD.What a pity

【答案】B

【解析】

句意:——媽媽,我上周英語(yǔ)考試不及格。——這不是什么重要的測(cè)試。別往心里去。

考查情景交際。Take it easy不要著急;Don’t take it to heart別往心里去;Not at all別客氣;What a pity真遺憾;根據(jù)“That’s not an important test.”可知這不是什么重要的測(cè)試,可推測(cè)出此處是“別往心里去”,故選B。

【題目】 Do you think studying in a different country is something that sounds very exciting? Certainly, it is a new experience. However, there are also some problems you will meet. Because you may have difficulty getting used to a new culture. This is culture shock .

Actually, at least four main periods of culture-shock appear. The first period is called “the honeymoon ( 蜜月)”. In this period, you feel excited about living in a different place, and everything seems to be fun. You like everything, and everybody seems to be so nice to you. Also, the happy life in a new culture seems as if it will have no ending.

However, the second period of culture shock appears. This is the “enemy period”. You get to notice that not everything is as good as you had thought it was. You become tired of many things about the new culture. Besides, people don’t treat you as a guest anymore. Everything that seemed to be so wonderful before is now terrible.

After you deal with your enemy feelings, you come to the third period called “getting good again”. In this period, you will feel more active, and you try to develop understanding of everything you don’t understand. The whole situation becomes better; you feel well from the symptoms of the first two periods, and you adapt yourself to the new values and traditions of the new country. You get to see that even the culture is different from your own, it has something that you can learn from.

The last period of culture shock is called “nature”. In this period, you have reached a point where you actually feel good because you have learned enough to understand the new culture. The things that made you feel uncomfortable or strange are now things that you understand. Now you feel comfortable, and you have adapt yourself to the new culture.

In fact, culture shock is something you must experience when living in a foreign country. It does not seem like a very useful experience when you are going through its four periods. However, when you have got used to a new culture, you can more fully enjoy it. You learn how to communicate with other people, and learning about other cultures helps you learn more about yourself.

A.Discover funny things.B.Have a chance to get rich.

【題目】 No matter where a video game is played, on a handheld device(裝置), the Internet or the television, too much gaming is a bad thing. Playing too many video games is a problem for kids and there are many signs that show the negative(消極的) influences.

If young people are always thinking about when they can play a video game, that is a sign that they have lost themselves in it. If they give up other hobbies that they used to love, that is also a problem. Many kids who choose to spend all their free time playing video games will make up ways to play the game instead of communicating with others. Leaving sports teams or clubs, refusing to go outside to play with friends, and choosing to stay home from birthday parties are all signs that video games have taken over the child’s attention.

In addition to negative behaviours, there are health problems from playing too many video games. If video game players skip meals or lose sleep because they stayed up too late playing games, this can negatively influence their health. Sitting in front of a game for more than two hours a day instead of getting up and being active can result in childhood obesity(肥胖癥). Moreover, backaches, headaches and strained(緊張的) eyes can be caused by playing too many video games.

1The writer thinks _________ is a problem for kids that causes negative influences.

A.watching too much TV
