The boy in his town often met at Martin’s house for a game of basketball. Young Martin liked school and was a very good student. When he was only fifteen years old, he went to university. At first he didn’t know what he wanted to do after graduation. At that time, black people didn’t have the same rights (權(quán)利) as the white people, and they are not as happy as the white people as well. So, Martin wanted to help the poor black people. Martin’s Diary
May.21st, 2014, Wednesday, Sunny
Today I paid my first visit in my life to the dentist with my mother, because I had terrible toothache. I have never been to such a frightening place before. The moment I walked into the office, I began to worry. I saw so many people waiting, and they all looked very nervous. I sat beside my mother. To make me relax, she read a funny story to me from a children’s magazine, but it seemed not so interesting any more. Some time later, my turn came. A nurse called us, and led(帶領(lǐng)) us into the room. I was told to climb into a very big chair. I could see so many strange things around me and I was very frightened. The dentist asked me to open my mouth, and then he looked into my mouth and examined each tooth carefully. Finally he said one of my teeth looked very bad, so he had to pull it out. Before he did anything to me, I couldn’t help crying(情不自禁地叫) loudly. What a sad day it was! I promise, I will never forget what happened today and I will never forget to brush my teeth after I have something sweet!
