If a snake bites you, take a photo with your mobile phone! It may save your life. This is the surprising    41   of a British cook.
One day Henry Jackson was working in a restaurant kitchen. He picked up a dish from the table, and    42   a snake appeared ... and bit him on the hand.
A few days earlier, the snake came to the    43   from Asia in a box of bananas. It climbed out of the box and    44   under the dish.
“I went to try to pick it up and it bit me again, I threw it    45   the kitchen, and it landed in the fridge. So I closed the door,” Mr. Jackson said.
Anyway, Mr. Jackson stayed    46   and he took a photo of the snake with his mobile phone. Soon his    47   began to ache and he went to hospital. Then his chest began to hurt. Doctors couldn’t say what was wrong    48   they didn’t know what kind of snake it was.
Then Mr. Jackson remembered his mobile phone photo. The doctors    49   it to London Zoo. When they knew the kind of snake, they could give Mr. Jackson the right medicine, and he left hospital the next day.
“So my advice is this: If a snake bites you, pick up your phone. Take    50   photo first and then show the photo to the doctors,” suggests Mr. Jackson. “Oh, and if the snake doesn’t smile for the photo, don’t worry!”

Let’s go camping
What do we do when we go camping? First, we work out a plan. We take food, clothing, a knife, and things for cooking and eating. We take things to keep us away from insects(蟲子) and the sun.
Then we put everything into the car and we drive to the woods(樹林、林地). We look for a place for campers(露營(yíng)者) and we look for a good place for our tent(帳篷). The place should have a lot of moving air. This will keep some insects away. High land with water on both sides of it is good. Then we put up our tent. Paris—French President Nicolas Sarkozy said he would clear over 300 Roma camps in France. He will send more than 700 Roma back to their native countries, including Romania (羅馬尼亞) and Bulgaria (保加利亞) in the next three months.
Many French people disagree with Sarkozy’s move. Some European countries don’t agree with the move, either. They say it goes against human rights. However, Sarkozy has made up his mind. Police have been clearing Roma camps.
Roma are also called gypsies (吉普賽人). They came from India. They left their homeland sometime during the 11th century and entered Europe in the 14th century. Today there are 2-5 million gypsies. Most of them live in Eastern Europe.
They traveled everywhere and made a living as actors, actresses, workers, and by selling goods from faraway lands. Most gypsies are very poor and their children don’t go to school. Some gypsies can’t find work so they make a living begging (乞討) or stealing. The French government thinks gypsies bring a lot of social problems. That’s why Sarkozy wants them out of France.
Sarkozy’s move, however, won’t solve the gypsy problems in France for the long term. According to EU (歐盟) laws, the gypsies of EU member countries are free to go to another EU member country, like France. They can stay there for up to three months. Many of the gypsies will probably come back to France in the future.
