【題目】 We have found plastic in the ocean and in animals. But for the first time, scientists have found plastic in human poop(糞便),USA Today reported.
The findings came from a study by scientists from Environment Agency Austria. The researchers followed eight healthy volunteers from different parts of the world. The volunteers wrote down what they ate for a week and then provided a stool sample(大便樣本)for testing.
Scientists found nine different types of plastic particles( 顆粒)in the samples. “The smallest plastic particles are able to enter the bloodstream, the lymphatic system (淋巴系統(tǒng)),and may even reach the liver(肝臟)”said Philipp Schwabl, who took part in the research.
However, the scientists aren't sure if this plastic is harmful to humans. They're not sure how the plastic got into the volunteers' bodies, either. But most of the volunteers said they drank from plastic bottles and also ate seafood that could include plastic from ocean pollution.
In fact, plastic is everywhere around us. Every year, about 8 million tons of plastic waste goes into the oceans. There, sunlight and waves break the plastic down to small particles. Most of the particles stay in the ocean. Others can spread into the soil and air. Could plastic in the air fall onto food and get into the human body?
According to USA Today, 90 percent of sea salt sold in the world includes plastic. And even some top water has been found to have plastic particles in it.

C.plastic can harm the lymphatic systemD.plastic particles are inside all of us
【4】What can we infer (推斷) from the study?
A.Plastic does no harm to our bodies.

【題目】 How much do you know about Earth-the planet that we live on? Our knowledge of Earth has been developing since ancient times. However, many puzzles about Earth remain unsolved. Live Science has published a list of the eight biggest mysteries about Earth. Let's look at some of them.
Where did water come from?
When it first came into being 4.5 billion years ago, Earth was a dry rock. So where did all of our water come from? Scientists think that it might have arrived in the form of ice by an asteroid(小行星) from outer space that hit our planet. But this theory has not been confirmed because there is very little related evidence(相關(guān)證據(jù))to be studied.
What's in the core(地核)?
Scientists used to study meteorites(隕石)as small examples of Earth, believing that Earth's core was made of iron and nickel(鎳). However, a later study in the 1950s proved this way to be wrong because it found that Earth would be too light to provide gravity if its core contained only iron and nickel. Today, scientists continue to bring forward different theories, but none have been confirmed.
How was the Moon born?
Scientists have found that the chemical compositions(成分)of Earth and the Moon are very similar. That suggests that the Moon actually came from Earth. For example, it could be a piece of Earth that separated when Earth hit another planet. It is also possible that when Earth first came into being, it spun(旋轉(zhuǎn))very fast and threw off enough molten(熔化的)rock to later from the Moon.
【1】What's the story mainly about?
A.How Earth came into being.B.Where Earth's water came from.
C.How the Moon was formed.D.Unexplained mysteries about Earth.
【2】What do we know about where water may come from?
A.Earth's water may come from ice that melted 4.5 billion years ago.
B.Earth's water may come from a small planet that hit Earth.
C.We don't know where water came from.
D.There is lots of evidence that tells us where water came from.
【3】What does the underlined phrase "bring forward" in Paragraph 5 probably mean?
A.Check.B.Raise.C.Improve.D.Receive.
【4】Which of the following is TURE according to the passage?
A.Scientists believed Earth's core was made of meteorites.
B.A study in the 1950s proved that Earth's core is made of iron and nickel.
C.The Moon and Earth are made of similar materials.
D.Three possibilities of where the Moon came from are mentioned.

【題目】 People in Western countries are eating less meat these days, whether for their health or because they want to protect animals. But now they have another reason.
Eating less meat can help to prevent climate change, according to a recent study published in Nature.
Raising livestock (家畜) is bad for the environment. When animals like cows digest (消化) food, their stomachs make greenhouse gases, which are a major cause of global warming. Seventeen percent of greenhouse gas emissions (排放) come from livestock farming, The New York Times reported.
In addition, to raise these livestock, people have to cut down forests and turn them into farms. Forests play a key role in fighting global warming because they absorb greenhouse gases.
Eating less meat according to certain guidelines could cut global food-related emissions by nearly a third by 2050, the study found. Keeping a vegetarian diet in the long term could bring down emissions by 63 percent.
But eating less meat won’t be easy. According to the study, people in Western countries will need to eat 90 percent less meat than they do now in order to have an impact (影響) on our climate. Scientists are now trying to find new foods to replace meat.
Some say that insects could help. A 2013 UN report said that eating insects is healthier and better for the environment. They produce 75 percent less greenhouse gases than livestock.
Some experts are creating lab-grown meat. They make meat in a lab using livestock cells (細(xì)胞). In March, US company JUST said people in the US might be able to buy its lab-grown meat by the end of this year

a. stay healthy b. reduce waste c. protect animals d. slow down climate change
A.a;b;cB.b;c;dC.a;b;dD.a;c;d
【4】What is the main idea of the story?
