Most of us have now heard about the plane crash of German wings Flight 9525. After taking off from Barcelona, Spain, the plane crashed into the French mountains on its way to Düsseldorf, Germany. Immediately, it caused shock and also questions. How do we find out what happened?
There is one piece of equipment that is the key to discovering the mysteries of a crash: the black box. On an airplane, there are actually two black boxes: the flight data recorder (FDR) and the cockpit (駕駛員座艙) voice recorder (CVR). FDR holds altitude levels information while CVR keeps conversations in the cockpit and radio conversations with air traffic control.
