A local primary school is considering using tablet computers(平板電腦)in all classrooms from next year. The following text has been written by a teacher at the school.
Should we use tablet computers in the classroom?
The use of tablet computers(or simply“tablets”)in the classroom has become an increasingly popular choice in many primary schools across the country, including many in our local area. It is important that we consider this opportunity, but we must also be a 【1】 of the problems.
On one hand, there are many a【2】to use tablets in the classroom.
Firstly, tablets could improve productivity( 效 率 )during the school day. Because of their familiarity with computers and mobile phones, many of our students can type faster than they can write by hand. T【3】 , using tablets in the classroom could reduce the time it takes for them to complete tasks. Additionally, there are endless tablet functions(功能)which could provide interesting teaching a【4】. For example, we could play computer games to teach Maths, or make simple flashes to show how magnets behave. Also, students could take photos outdoors and then use them for writing tasks.
However, we must also consider the possible problems with introducing tablets to our classrooms. Some students may play with the tablets instead of f 【5】 on their work. Another problem is that, while many students can use tablets already, many of our teachers are not good at it and would need to be trained. We may also have problems with the tablets breaking, which would be very expensive to r【6】 . This is in addition to the cost of buying the tablets in the first place.
All in all, even though using tablets in the classroom may have many problems, it seems that it would be a wonderful opportunity for students and teachers at our school. There are a lot of costs indeed, but it would c【7】prove to be a worthwhile investment(物有所值的投資).

What should you do if there’s an earthquake at school? How can you protect yourself when you are caught in a stampede(踩踏)? 三月二十五日給了我們一個學習有關安全的好機會。
This day is called the National Day of Education on the Safety of Elementary and middle School students(全國中小學生安全教育日). The purpose of the day is to give us more knowledge about safety.
Staying calm is the first and most important rule when facing accidents, but different accidents have different self-protection tips.
A stampede is possible anywhere. If you fall down in a moving crowd, cover your head with both hand. Lean to one side, curl up (卷起) your body and bend (彎曲) your legs.
Earthquakes are common. When you feel the ground shake, drop down, take cover under a desk and hold on. If you are outdoors, find a place away from buildings, trees, and power lines.
When there’s a fire, follow the teachers’ instructions, leave the classroom quickly and use a piece of cloth to cover your moth and nos.
Sports injuries (傷害) may happen while doing sports. Before playing sports,·you should warm up for 15 to 30 minutes.
What do other countries do to keep students safe?
Japan Earthquake Drills (演習)
At public schools in Japan, earthquake drills are held once a month. They teach students safety tips during an earthquake. Regular training helps students escape from earthquake-stricken areas without causing any stampedes.
Australia First-aid (急救) Courses
Most students in Australia take first -aid courses at school. They learn basic first-aid knowledge in the class, such as how to call an ambulance (救護車) and what to do when someone is hurt. The government is trying to make all kids take such courses.
US The Fire Escape
Most US school buildings have fire escapes (火災逃生口). A fire escape has platforms with stairs and ladders at each floor of a building. Thery are usually made of steel and built outside the building. People can get to the fire escape through a fire exit door or a window. It is not a good idea to jump out of window from higher than two floors. It may hurt yourself.
