Long ago, there was a queen who lived in a palace. She felt bored and said to her advisor (顧 問) ,“All the things around me are too boring. I need a different kind of beauty. Let everyone know that I will hold a competition for the most beautiful thing in the world. And the prize will be this crown (王冠) .”
Several days later, lots of people came to the competition and showed their things. The queen wavS not satisfied with what she saw. The advisor suggested ,“What you are looking for cannot be brought to you. You must look for it by yourself. What about a journey?”
The queen was interested in the idea,so she started immediately. As she was on top of the hill near her palace, she looked down and suddenly something cried in her heart. “Why have I never found my palace so beautiful?”
The queen spent one year travelling. She saw beauty on the farm,in the forest and even in the stars twinkling (閃爍) at night on her journey. But what was the most beautiful thing? She thought it over. Suddenly, she understood beauty was everywhere. She should learn to enjoy the world. She left the pieces of her crown at different places that she had seen. [2015 • 內(nèi)蒙古]閱讀判斷,閱讀下面的短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容判斷下面所給句子的正(T) 誤(F) 。
As we know, all living things have to eat food. For a man,a tiger,a fish,a bird,or even a worm, food is necessary. Generally speaking, all living things are sure to die without food. In every part of the world, many different kinds of animals share living places and live in communities (群落) together. They are connected in a food chain (鏈) .
Within a food chain, some living things are producers and some are consumers (消費(fèi)者) .Plants are producers because they use sunlight, soil and other things to make their own food. Animals are consumers because they have to eat other animals or plants.
There are four different kinds of consumers in the animal kingdom. A carnivore is an animal that only eats other animals. An herbivore is an animal that only eats plants. An omnivore is an animal that eats both plants and animals. A scavenger is an animal that eats dead animals.
Look at the picture. It is an example of a food chain. The food chain shows the order that animals eat each other in a community. In the picture, you can see what animal or plant is food for another animal. See? A leaf is food for a grasshopper, which then becomes food for a hungry mouse. The mouse is food for a snake. The snake is eaten by an eagle. In this way,all of these animals are connected.
() 11. The main idea of the passage is “Four kinds of consumers”.
() 12. The underlined word “scavenger” means in Chinese “腐生動(dòng)物”.
