expert,off,sleep,smell,strong,check,dangerous,if, doctor,I
Back in first grade, when I was 7 years old, some strange things began happening to me. I started wetting my pants like a little kid,and my breath (81) really bad. Then one day,a teacher found me walking in the halls of my school. I didn't know where I was or even my name.
I was taken to the hospital at once. The (82) there discovered I had a disease called type 1 diabets (1 型糖尿病) .At the time,I didn’ t understand what that meant, but now I’m pretty much a(n) (83) . To put it simply: If you have type 1 diabetes, your blood sugar can swing too high or too low. What's very scary for (84) is that my blood sugar level can swing quickly in either direction — and I could die.
Keeping diabetes under control is almost a full-time job. I have to (85) my levels by poking (戳) my finger with a needle (針) about 6 to 12 times a day.when I'm (86) , my parents take turns doing it for me at midnight,3 a.m., and 6 a.m., and I don't even wake up!
But there’s still a chance that my blood sugar could swing (87) high or low. That's when Jackie comes to help!My dog has been trained to smell my blood sugar levels. (88) she thinks they are high or low,she will give me her paw (爪)and make a sound. She’11 even pull the quilt (89) me if I'm sleeping!I love her so much.
Though I’11 probably have to check my blood sugar levels forever, the disease has made me (90) than before. I know that if I can manage this disease,I can do anything.
81. smelled/smelt!
82. doctor (s) 。
83. expert。
84. me。
85. check。
86. sleeping。 I don't even wake up可知 此處指“我”正在“睡覺”的時(shí)候。
87. dangerously。
88. If。
89. off。
90. stronger。
