閱讀下列短文,回答問題

In Britain students have two hours of PE every school week. They do sit-ups, press-ups and skipping rope(跳繩). These are hard and not always much fun.

But some schools also allow students to jump on trampolines(蹦床), I remember when I was at school this was my favorite. Jumping high into the air always gave me a thrill(刺激). But you need someone standing by the trampoline watching you. Sometimes you can’t land where you planned.

There are also games or sports classes. In these classes kids play football and rugby(橄欖球) in the winter and cricket(板球), tennis in the warmer part of the year.

When you get your report card(成績單) there will be a grade for PE. Your mom and dad will find out how good you are at push-ups, just as they will find out how you are doing in Maths and Chinese.

It is good to do well because it is important to be healthy. But in Britain the grade for PE doesn’t really affect(影響) how you do in school, and doesn’t affect your chances of getting into a good school.

注意:(1--4 ,no more than four words)

1. How often do Britain students have PE?

2.Why do you need someone watching you when you are jumping on the trampolines?

3. What sports do kids in Britain play in winter?

I have loo many things. My bedroom is often very messy. I have shelves with dirty books I never read and CDs 1 don't listen to. My drawers are filled with clothes I never wear. Recently a Beijing father sent in a question at an Internet forum(論壇) asking what “PK” meant.

“My family has been watching the ‘I Am the Singer’ singing competition TV programme. My little daughter asked me what ‘PK’ meant, but I had no idea,” explained the puzzled father.

To a lot of Chinese young people who have been playing games online, it is impossible not to know this term. In such Internet games, “PK” is short for “Player Kill”, in which two players fight until one ends the life of the other.

In the case of the “I Am the Singer” singing competition, “PK” was used to refer to the stage where two singers have to compete with each other for only one chance to go up in competition raking.

Like this father, Chinese teachers at Middle schools have also been finding their students using Internet jargons which are difficult to understand. A teacher from Tianjin asked her students to write the compositions with simple language, but they came up with a lot of Internet jargons that she didn’t understand.

“My ‘GG’ came back this summer from college. He told me I’ve grown up to be a ‘PLMM’. I loved to ‘FB’ with him together; he always took me to the ‘KPM’,” went one composition.

“GG” means Ge Ge (Chinese pinyin for brother). “PLMM” is Piao Liang Mei Mei (beautiful girl). “FB” means Fu Bai (corruption). “KPM” is short for KFC, Pizza Hut and McDonald’s.

Some specialists welcome Internet jargons as a new development in language.

If you do not even know what a Kong Long (dinosaur, meaning an ugly looking femal) or a Qing Wa (frog, meaning an ugly looking male) is, you will possibly be regarded as a Cai Niao!

A. explain some Internet jargons

B. suggest common Internet jargons

C. laugh at the Beijing father

D. draw our attention to Internet jargons

2.What does the underlined word Internet jargons mean?

A. Internet language

B. Internet action

C. Internet behavior

A. Fathers can’t possibly know it.

B. The daughter should understand it.

C. Online game players may know it.

D. “I Am the Singer” shouldn’t have used it.

4.The example of the Beijing father and the Tianjin teacher is used to show that Internet jargons ________.

A. are used not only online

B. can be understood very well

C. are welcomed by all the people

D. cause trouble to our mother tongue

I was driving home on a very hot afternoon and about to get near a crossing. One of the main traffic lights had gone off, and a police officer was standing in the middle of the busy street to direct(指揮) the traffic. Although he has no hat to keep out of the burning sun, he seemed very happy and was pleased about the job.

I needed to stop at the drugstore(藥店) on the corner, and while I was there, I wanted to get some water for the officer. But I had some hesitation(猶豫), since it was uncomfortable for me to interact(交往) with a stranger in this way.

I left, drove halfway home, turned around, went back to the drugstore, got water and then found myself thinking about how to hand it to him in the busy crossing. I knew that he might not be able to take it, but I would like to try.

I drove into the crossing and offered the officer the bottle of water. Though he wasn’t able to take the bottle, he smiled, and said, “Thank you.”

I drove home, feeling good for what I had done. And I even called the police station that afternoon to make sure that they knew what a great job he did that day.

3.The writer went back to the drugstore and bought some medicine.

4.The writer offered the police officer a bottle of water that day.
