【題目】 The Science magazine reported that scientists had successfully grown meat in their laboratory by November, 2018. The news aroused heated discussion among the public. Is the meat safe? Is it any different? Why do we have to grow meat in a lab? People have tons of questions about this. And the scientists said that the lab-grown meat is produced when cells from animals are grown under lab conditions. It isn't like plant-based meat substitutes (替代品) made from vegetable proteins (蛋白質(zhì)), since cell-based meat is grown from actual animal cells. This means that it is an animal product, so not suitable for vegetarians.

Is cell-cultured meat the same as ordinary meat? The muscle fibers (纖維) produced in the lab are the same as those found in steak, said leading researchers in this technology at Maastricht University in The Netherlands. But they pointed out that to get the same nutrient. (營養(yǎng)物) content that is found in red meat, they need to make some changes to the procedure. Scientists say they are also looking into changing the type of fat in lab-grown meat, for example.

Some people have concerns with growing meat in the lab. Some say this method of meat production would result in less land and water use. Others argue that growing meat in the lab would influence the environment more negatively than our traditional way of raising cattle. It would take massive amounts of energy resources to produce meat in this way, they say.

Some groups have petitioned (請求) the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to better define the term “meat”. They want to know if we are buying the traditionally produced type or the cultured variety. Hopefully we will see some labeling guidelines on these products before they show up in grocery stores. And that may be a few years away. Regulatory issues and cost - the first lab-grown hamburger patty (肉餅) cost $330,000 (2274,900 yuan) - could delay the arrival of cultured meat.

2According to the passage, the lab-grown meat ______.

A.is the same as ordinary meat

B.has the same muscle fibers as those in pork

3From the last paragraph, we can know ______.

A.the US FDA feels it necessary to label different kinds of meat

【題目】完成表格。閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)其內(nèi)容,完成表格中所缺信息,并將答案填寫在答題卡相應(yīng)題號后。

Nowadays in school life, a lot of students develop a fear of tests. It's not because tests are something to be afraid of. Most students are afraid of tests mainly because they don't always think they are well—prepared and they don't have enough self—confidence. If you follow the advice below, it's not difficult to overcome your fear of tests.

People who know that they are not well—prepared are usually those who fear tests most. However, most students don't know when they are truly prepared for a test. As long as you know that you have studied well and long enough, you have reason to believe that you are well—prepared.

Be confident about yourself. Confidence before a test can bring about two results: either you fail the test and feel as if your confidence was unfounded(毫無根據(jù)的)or you could actually do well in the test because of your confidence. Some students find that they experience the first result. However, this is only because those students might not have followed the first advice mentioned above. As long as you have studied well, you will be more confident of your chance to succeed in a test. If you feel as if you have not studied hard enough, then you will not be as confident as you should be.

Ask your teacher in advance(提前)about the material that is going to be covered in the test. In this way, you will know what you should prepare for and you can get confidence in the test. But you have to be brave enough to ask. Most students do not ask unless their teacher gives the information first, so make sure that you ask.

You should know that tests are only telling if you have got the knowledge, not how good or bad your IQ is. So, even if you do badly in one test, you should know that there are other tests to come. As long as you think that there is another tomorrow, you can overcome your fear of a test. However, make sure that you are going to prepare well for the other tests.

Fear can be a problem in the process of achieving success. However, with the right attitude(態(tài)度)and preparations, you can overcome your fear of tests by using these suggestions.

【題目】 Table manners are very different in every country. For example, when you are in England, you must not lift your soup plate to your mouth. This is very impolite. But when you are in Japan, this is completely normal. Lifting your plate to your mouth in Japan is a traditional way of drinking your soup. And also in Japan you don't have to worry about making a noise when you drink it. It just shows that you really like the food! But it is not the same in Britain, so you shouldn't make a noise when eating there.

In Britain, people don't put their hands or arms on the table during the meal. But in Mexico, guests keep their hands on the table all the time. In fact, you should watch what your hands do very carefully. In Arab countries, it is impolite when you eat with your left hand, so don't do it!

In all the cultures it is impolite to speak when you are eating.

In Ukraine you should not start eating first; you should wait for all the others to start eating with you. You also have to say “please” and “thank you” every time you ask for and get something. If you don't like some food, don't make faces and don't say: “Yuk! I hate that!”

The best way to avoid making mistakes in other countries is to watch the host and try to do as he does.
