Many people dream of going on a great travel adventure. Most of us keep dreaming; others make it happen.
Gregg Beakney's dream was to travel around the Americas from top to bottom. He got the idea after he finished a 1, 600-kilometer bike ride. Gregg's friend, Brooks Allen, was also a cyclist. The two friends talked and set their goal: they would travel from Alaska to Argentina by bike. To pay for the journey, Gregg and Brooks worked and saved money for years. Once they were on the road, they often camped outdoors or stayed in hotels. In many places, along their route(路線), local people opened their homes to the two friends and gave them food.
During their trip, Gregg and Brooks cycled through deserts, rainforests(熱帶雨林)and mountains. They visited modern cities and explored ancient ruins(遺跡), such as Tikal in Guatemala(危地馬拉). In many places, they met other cyclists from all over the world. In May 2007, they traveled twelve countries in two years, and over 30, 500 km(19, 000 miles). Artificial intelligence(AI)(人工智能)is the ability of a computer program or a machine. The computer or the machine with AI can think and learn. It is also a field of study that tries to make computers "smart". John McCarthy, a scientist, came up with(提出)the name "artificial intelligence" over 60 years ago. Many things such as learning and problem solving can be done by computers, though not in the same way as people do.
An unusual goal of AI research is to create computer programs. They can learn, solve problems, and think logically(邏輯地). At present, we use the term AI for successfully understanding human speech, recognizing(識別)human faces, operating self-driving cars and competing in some game systems like playing Chess. However, some people also consider AI a danger to humans if it develops too quickly. Professor Stephen Hawking(霍金), a famous British scientist was not for this kind of technology.
Math is the basic language of AI. If students are good at math, they will be more likely to become successful AI designers(設計者)in the future. We need not only bright students, but also average(普通的)students. As for(對于)average students, if they get enough math skills, they can also become successful AI designers. Besides, a good knowledge of computer science is also necessary for AI designing.
Scientists hope to create creative and emotional(有感情的)AI. The AI can possibly understand human feelings or create art. Many ways and tools have been tried to discover this wide and exciting field.

A.all problems can be solved by computers
B.machines with AI can think and learn

A.Understand human speech. B.Operate self-driving cars.
C.Compete in some game systems. D.Understand human feelings.

A.chess B.a scientist C.the danger D.AI
4.According to the passage, if students want to become successful AI designers, they should learn ____________well.
A.math and art B.art and technology
C.math and computer science D.art and computer science
5.Paragraph 4 mainly tells us the scientists'_____________ about AI.
A.wishes B.worries C.feelings D.discoveries

A grand international horticultural(園藝)exhibition kicked off on April 29, 2019 Monday in Beijing. Chinese President Xi expressed his hope that the green development concept(理念)embodied(體現(xiàn))by the Expo park would be spread to “every corner of the world”.
The International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing is the highest-level and largest international fair held in China after the International Horticultural Exhibition held in the southwest city of Kunming in 1999, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and the first China International Import Expo in 2018.
“The development model of ‘killing the hens for eggs' and ‘draining(排空)the lake for fish' is at a dead end, "Xi said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Expo. "The future will be illuminated(發(fā)光的)by eco-friendly development that is in accordance with the rules of nature.”
“China's ecological civilization(生態(tài)文明)development is on fast track. People will live in a better environment with blue sky, green mountains and clear water, "Xi said." We should protect the ecological environment like protecting our eyes and value it in the same way we value our lives.”
“Only with concerted efforts can we effectively(有效)deal with global environment issues such as climate change, marine(海洋)pollution and biological protection and achieve the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable(可持續(xù)的)Development goals," he said.
He put forward a five-point suggestion: pursuing(追求)harmony between human and nature, prosperity(繁榮)based on green development, a passion for mature-caring lifestyles, a scientific spirit in ecological governance and joint efforts to deal with environmental challenges.
"The Beijing Horticultural Expo, themed ‘Live Green, Live Better', is one of the major international events hosted by China in 2019, which marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. It indicates(標識)that China has changed from a participant(參與者)in global green development to a contributor and leader, "said Wu Shunze, an expert with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
