【1】difficulty to learning中“to”改為“in”或去掉

【2】because 后加of

【3】pronounce改為“pronunciation”

【4】but改為and

【5】Afraid of 后的“be”改為“being”

【7】“l(fā)end”改為“l(fā)ent”

【8】improving改為improve

【9】With his help中his改為her

【1difficulty to learning中“to”改為“in”或去掉 考查固定結(jié)構(gòu)。固定結(jié)構(gòu)have difficulty in doing sth做某事有困難,所以可以刪除to,也可以把to改為in。

要使用名詞pronunciation和poor連用一起充當(dāng)because of的賓語(yǔ)。

【4】but改為and 考查連詞。 所以要把but改為and。

【5】Afraid of 后的“be”改為“being” 考查動(dòng)名詞。

固定結(jié)構(gòu)help (to) do sth幫助做某事;其中的to可以省略。

【9】With his help中his改為her 考查代詞。

形容詞短語(yǔ)be interested in...

In the winter vacation, I paid a visit a mountain village in a suburb of Luoyang. No sooner had I got off the bus when I was greatly surprising to see all the changes. It was far better than I had been expected. Now every family can drink cleanly running water. The villagers needn’t carry water himself any more. Firewood is no longer used for cooking. Marsh gas, a new cheap clean energy, make it very convenient to cook and light. As all the families have color TV set, they can enjoy plays at home. It impressed me most was that the best building in a village was the school. I hope the mountain village will become better and better.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a quality that is difficult to possess. When someone has deeply hurt you, it can be extremely difficult to let go of your hate. However, forgiveness is possible, and it can be surprisingly beneficial to your physical and mental health. People who forgive show less sadness, anger and stress and more hopefulness, according to a recent research.

【1】 Try the following steps:

Calm yourself. 2 You can take a couple of breaths and think of something that gives you pleasure: a beautiful scene in nature, or someone you love.

Don’t wait for an apology. Many times the person who hurt you does not intend to apologize. They may have wanted to hurt you or they just don’t see things the same way.

3 Keep in mind that forgiveness does not necessarily mean becoming friends again with the person who upset you.

Take the control away from your offender(冒犯者). Rethinking about your hurt gives power to the person who caused you pain. Instead of focusing on your wounded feelings, learn to look for the love, beauty and kindness around you.

4 If you understand your offender, you may realize that he or she was acting out of unawareness, fear, and even love. You may want to write a letter to yourself from your offender’s point of view.

Don’t forget to forgive yourself. 5 But it can rob you of your self-confidence if you don’t do it.

A. How should you start to forgive?

B. Why should you frgive?

C. Try to see things from your offender’s angle.

D. Recognize the benefits of forgiveness.

E. For some people, forgiving themselves is the biggest challenge.

F. If you wait for people to apologize, you could be waiting an awfully long time.

G. To make your anger die away, try a simple stressmanagement technique.

People tend to become more personal and hide less of themselves when using email. Some Britain researchers have found in a recent study that there are good reasons for this.

The team of researchers asked 83 pairs of students, all strangers to each other, to solve a problem. A new study of 8,000 young people in the Journal of Health and Social Behavior shows that although love can make adults live healthily and happily, it is a bad thing for young people. Puppy love (早戀) may bring stress for young people and can lead to depression. The study shows that girls become more depressed than boys, and younger girls are the worst of all.

The possible reason for the connection between love and higher risk of depression for girls is “l(fā)oss of self”. According to the study, even though boys would say “l(fā)ose themselves in a romantic relationship”, this “l(fā)oss of self” is much more likely to lead to depression when it happens to girls. Young girls who have romantic relationships usually like hiding their feelings and opinions. They won’t tell that to their parents.

Dr Marian Kaufman, an expert on young people problems, says 15% to 20% young people will have depression during their growing. Trying romance often causes the depression. She advises kids not to jump into romance too early. During growing up, it is important for young people to build strong friendships and a strong sense of self. She also suggests the parents should encourage their kids to keep close to their friends, attend more interesting school activities and spend enough time with family.

Parents should watch for signs of depression -- eating or mood changes -- and if they see signs from their daughters or sons, they need to give help. The good news is that the connection between romance and depression seems to become weak with age. Love will always make us feel young, but only maturity (成熟) gives us a chance to avoid its bad side effects.

【1】 Which of the following is more likely to have depression?

A. Young people who have a strong sense of selfishness.

B. Young girls who always hide their feelings and opinions.

C. Young boys whose parents watch for their behavior.

D. Careless parents whose children are deep in love.

【2】What can be inferred from the passage?

A. The older a woman is,the less likely she seems to lose herself in romance.

B. Lacking love can lead young people to grow up more quickly.

C. Early love makes young people keep close to their friends and parents.

D. Parents should help their children to be aware of the signs of depression.

【3】 What’s the author’s attitude towards puppy love?

A. Confused B. Disinterested

C. Scared D. Disapproving

【4】What’s the main idea of the passage?

A. Puppy love may bring young people depression.

B. Parents should forbid their children’s love.

C. Romance is a two edged sword for adults.

D. Romance is good for young people.

In order to help customers find what they want quickly, it’s important to keep the thousands of titles in the Main Street Movies store organized properly. This section of the Employee Handbook will tell you how to organize videos.

Each Main street Movies store has three main sections:

.1.New Releases Wall.

.2.Film library.

.3.Video Games.

New Releases Wall. Almost 70 percent of movie rentals are new releases, and that is the first place where most customers go when they enter the store. The center section of shelves on this wall holds Hottest Hits. When new titles come into the store, place them on this wall in alphabetical order. The shelves beside Hottest Hits are called Recent Releases. The New Releases Wall, including the Hottest Hits and Recent Releases shelves, holds about 350 titles.

Film Library. The thousands of titles in the Film Library are organized into categories. The films within each category are displayed alphabetically. Here are the categories and their two-letter computer codes:

AC

Action

DR

Drama

HO

Horror

CH

Children

FA

Family

MU

Music

CO

Comedy

FL

Foreign Language

SC

SCIENCE Fiction

Foreign Language titles include films that were originally made in a foreign language and films with foreign language subtitles. A sticker on the back of each box tells which type of film it is.

Video Game. All the video games in Main street Movies are arranged in alphabetical order. Although video games represent only a small percentage of our inventory(庫(kù)存), they are stolen more often than any other type of goods in our store. Therefore, video games are never displayed on the shelves. Shelves in the Video Game section hold cardboard with pictures and information about each game. When a customer wants to rent a particular game, you then find the game from the locked case behind the counter.

B. From Film Library to Hottest Hits to Recent Releases.

C. From Recent Releases to Film Library to Hottest Hits.

D. From Hottest Hits to Recent Releases to Film Library.

3Why can’t video games be seen on the shelves?

A. Because they’ve been sold out.

B. Because they’re in the storehouse.

C. Because they’re in a locked case behind the counter.

D. Because they represent a small percentage of the inventory.

4How can a customer find a film with foreign language subtitles?
