A [2015'山東臨沂高三二!絀 often teach about happiness and what has become clear is this : there are some qualities unhappy people always have. Here are some of them.
Happy people know life can be hard and tend to live through hard times. They take responsibility for how they got themselves into a mess, and focus on getting themselves out of it as soon as possible. Unhappy people see themselves as victims of life and stay stuck in the " look what happened to me" attitude instead of finding a way through and out to the other side.
Most happy people believe in the good in people instead of thinking everyone is out to get them. Generally open and friendly towards people they meet, happy people foster(培養(yǎng)) a sense of community around themselves and meet new people with an open heart. Unhappy people are distrustful of most people they meet and think strangers can't be trusted. Unfor?tunately, this behaviour slowly closes all the chances of meet?ing new friends.
Unhappy people believe someone else's good fortune is stolen from them. They believe there's not enough goodness to go around and always compare others' against theirs. This leads to jealousy(忌妒).Happy people know that others' good luck and circumstances are just signs of what they also can a-chieve if they try hard enough. They believe in unlimited pos?sibilities and don't get stuck in thinking one person's good fortune limits their possible outcomes in life.
There's only so much space between the two ears. Un?happy people fill that space with constant worry or fear. Hap?py people experience fear or worry too,but they make an im?portant difference between feeling it and living with it. When fear or worry crosses happy people's mind, they'll ask them?selves if there's action they can take to prevent their fear or worry from happening and they take it. If not , they realize they're spinning in fear and they lay it down.
Paragraph 2 mainly shows that unhappy people tend to
A. focus on what they really want
B. get worried about what will happen
C. stay focused on the past misfortunes
D. find a way to live through hard times
2. According to Paragraphs 3 and 4 , unhappy people [

If you are going out, grab a magazine? a book, an article or something to read.

Some of the columns that you mention in the letter are really my cup of tea. Cultural Express give us a better under?standing of the world. B [2015 •吉林普通高中高三第三次調(diào)研] When you put down your pens at the end of the College Entrance Examination, 12 hard years of study will have come to an end. Forget your studies for a while. It's time to enjoy yourselves !
There are many ways to celebrate this special month of graduation. You can have photos taken with your classmates and teachers, or dine out together and exchange gifts.
High school students in Western countries such as the United States and Canada usually have a prom to mark their graduation. It's to mark the time when kids turn into young men and women. After the prom, teenagers either go to col?lege or find a job. It means they are no longer as dependent on their parents as they were before.
At the prom, boys usually dress in dinner jackets and bow ties, though many different types of formal clothes are worn. Traditionally, girls give boys matching boutonnieres (a small collection of flowers they pin to their jackets). Girls traditionally wear formal dresses, or dress to shock or be noticed in shiny or brightly coloured materials.
Common prom activities include dining* dancing, crown?ing a prom king and queen, and just talking to friends. In some cases, high school students collect funds for their class prom through the four years of their high school.
High schools in or near large cities may rent ballrooms at expensive hotels or, to be unusual, on a pleasure cruise boat.
But often costs are cut by simply using the school gym. Students make a lot of efforts to decorate the gym to make the event special. The music played at the prom will be the most popular kinds, like rock and hip hop.
The students elect the Prom Queen. She is partnered with a Prom King who is elected similarly. These are great honours that the pair take very seriously. The two dance with each other to celebrate their election.
Sometimes teachers and parents also go to the prom. But others like to go with friends, to whom they are soon going to be saying goodbye.
If you like the idea of a prom, why don't you and your classmates organize one for your graduation?
5.Which of the following indicates that a prom is very im?portant to students?
A. They take pictures at the prom.
B. They wear formal clothes or special clothes.
C. Music is played at the prom.
D. Teachers and parents attend it.
6.Which of the following is an economical way to hold the prom?
A. Renting a ballroom.
B. Taking a cruise boat.
C. Holding it in the school gym.
D. Wearing formal dresses.
7.Why do some students attend the prom with their friends?
A. They will part with their friends in a short time.
B. They don't like to be accompanied by their parents.
C. They don't want to depend on their parents.
D. They want to be elected by their friends as the Prom King or Queen.
8.What is the writer's purpose to write this passage?
A. To tell an interesting experience of high school students.
B. To tell how the Western students spend the last days of high school.
C. To introduce several ways of Western students' killing time.

Few of us haven't read Cinderella , the story of a young woman living in poverty who meets the prince of her dreams. Some might not want to admit it, but there is a
hidden Cin?derella in everyone's heart―we all wish we could achieve rec?ognition or success after a period of obscurity(默默無(wú)聞).
Mary Santiago has that secret dream, too. Her story is featured in Another Cinderella Story , a film set in a US high school.
Mary is shy but loves to dance. Compared with other girls, she is invisible. However, her world changes complete?ly when a famous teenager pop singer, Joey Parker, appears.
Joey has everything the rest of the boys in her class don't have―kind, handsome and desirable. Mary and Joey's paths cross at a ball. They meet and fall in love with each other. But when Mary has to rush back home, she leaves behind her MP3 player, which becomes the only clue Joey has to find the girl of his dreams. Of course, there is a wicked stepmother, who turns out to be Dominique Blatt and she takes in Mary-after her dancer mother dies. Dominique treats Mary like a maid and does everything she can to make sure Mary doesn't get into the top dance school. Her two daughters are equally determined to stop Joey falling for Mary, even if that means embarrassing her.
The story, though it mostly follows Cinderella, does add a few modern-day twists to the classic fairy tale. Refresh?ingly, the film, unlike many high school films, does not focus on looks, although the actors are all beautiful. There is also a lot less materialism in Another Cinderella Story than in many similar movies.
The movie takes the Cinderella fairy tale as its jump?ing-off point," writes movie critic Amber Wilkinson. "Yet the focus is firmly on following your dreams."
1. The first paragraph is mainly to .
A. inform us of the importance to marry a prince
B. remind us why Cinderella is popular all the years
C. build interest and lead us to Mary's secret dream
D. tell us how interesting the fairy tale Cinderella is
2. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Joey is just like other boys in Mary's class.
B. The MP3 player helps Joey in finding Mary.
C. Not many people have a dream to be realized.
D. Mary's mother influences her a lot in singing.
3. What does the movie critic Amber Wilkinson mean by his words about Another Cinderella Story ?
A. The movie is exactly another copy of the Cinderella fairy tale.
B. The movie is as good as the story Cinderella.
C. The movie and Cinderella both focus on following your dreams.
D. The movie is based on the story Cinderella while a lit?tle different from it.
4. The passage is mainly about .
A. an introduction to Mary Santiago
B. a review about a film
C. an essay about dreams
D. an advertisement of Cinderella

They will be here in a minute, surely. I'll just stare at my shoes a little while longer to pass the time. Wish I'd brought a book. Hang on, though, what if I,ve got the wrong day? The wrong place? Have the clocks gone back? No, damn it; I'm off home. Whoever I'm waiting for clearly lives in a different time zone from me.
I am always 10 minutes early, so if you're 10 minutes late, I've been foot-tapping for 20 minutes. I know it's not fair to hold the first 10 against you, but I just can't help my?self. I never wait more than 20 minutes beyond the meeting time we decided upon, not for anyone, ever.
OK, that's not .strictly true. I have, on occasion, hung around anxiously and heart-brokenly for up to an hour, but the bitter anger that follows is never a pretty sight. If you've made me wait that long, you will wish you hadn't bothered turning up at all.
How come some people are always late and some are al?ways on time? If I can manage to be punctual, why can't you? Because I left a hot cup of coffc^' at home while you sat down to roll another cigarette. Because I spilled jam on my pants and quickly wiped it off whereas you took time to change your whole outfit. Because I switched off midway through a TV series? but you had to ride out the end, didn't you? And don't even think about blaming the traffic. How do you think I got here? By flying carpet? Only carelessness or arrogance(傲慢) can explain a habit of lateness.
Some people are always late because they can't make re?alistic calculations about how long it takes to do things. There are 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour. Just deal with it. Painful as it may be, you have to accept that, as you've agreed to meet at eight and it's now a quarter to eight, you don't have time to phone your girlfriend.
Much worse, though, are those with big egos (自我). Being late is just rude. Being late on purpose really means that you hate the person you are meeting.
Of course, there are some perfectly lovely latecomers out there. I just never wait long enough to find out.

c. Their carelessness.
d. Being picky when choosing clothes.
e. Their realistic calculations of how long it takes to do things.
A. a, b B. a, c C. b, d, e D. c, d, e
