Conflict Resolution(解決)
Conflict is a normal part of any healthy relationship. After all, two people can’t be expected to agree on everything all the time. 1.
Conflicts may be resolved in positive or negative ways. When they’re handled in a positive way, they provide an opportunity to strengthen the bond. 2. The following is a practical five-step process for conflict resolution.
◆Agree that you disagree. Make clear the issue that is causing the disagreement. Answer the question “What is this disagreement about?”
◆Take turns talking and listening. Use talking and listening skills to have a conversation about the problem. 3. Each person should also have an opportunity to listen to the other person’s point of view.
◆Restate what you hear. Reflect what the other person says to figure out his or her thought and feelings.4.
◆Come up with a solution. Think of ideas that may solve the problem. You both should agree on the solution you choose.
◆5. If you are unable or unwilling to reach a solution, contact an unbiased(無偏見的)person who can offer objective and practical suggestions.
A. Get outside help if you need it.
B. State your point of view to others.
C. Ask questions if you don’t understand.
D. But when mismanaged, they can damage a relationship.
E. Each person should have an opportunity to say what he thinks.
F. Learning how to resolve conflicts helps relationships run more smoothly.
G. And when handled in a respectful way, they contribute to the relationship.

I was riding along the road when I heard someone shouting behind me. It was a young shepherd (牧羊人). He was running across a field, and pointing at something.
I looked and saw two wolves running across the field. One was fully grown, the other was a cub. The cub had on his back a lamb (羔羊) which had just been killed, and he had the leg in his mouth. The old wolf was running behind.
As soon as I saw the wolves, I joined the shepherd and started in pursuit (追擊), setting up a shout.
When they heard, some peasants started out also in pursuit, with their dogs.
As soon as the old wolf caught sight of the dogs and the men, he ran to the young one, snatched (攫取) the lamb from him, threw it over his back, and both wolves increased their pace and were soon lost from view.
Then the shepherd began to tell me how it happened. The big wolf has sprung (跳躍) out from the valley, seized the lamb, killed it and carried it off. The old wolf allowed the young wolf to carry the lamb, but kept running a short distance behind.
But as soon as there was danger, the old wolf stopped giving the lesson, and seized the lamb himself.

Amanda has been awarded the Star Student for that she did for our class. Sir William Osler has a few words for you: “In the Life of a young man, the most essential thing for happiness is the gift of friendship.” Truer words were never spoken. A person of good character and sound moral, of honor and humor, of courage and belief is a friend to be sought and treasured — for there are few. Too often we hear, “If you can count your good friends on more than one hand, consider yourself blessed.” And even then I would add, “Even if you have lost two fingers of that hand to the electric saw.
What makes a friendship last? Well, I don’t know all the answers, but one of my observations is that most good friends usually have similar tastes. They generally like and dislike many of the same things. There also usually seems to exist a similarity of personality types — especially in the fundamental values of life such as honesty, sincerity, loyalty, and dependability. More often than not, birds of a feather do fly together. I don’t think it matters a lot whether one prefers jazz or hockey to another’s Mozart or ballet. Much other matters far more: relying, sharing, giving, getting, enjoying; a sympathetic ear always there; criticism when it can help; praise — even if only because it would help. With not many people on this earth will you find this much in common. When you find one, hang on to him, for a good friend found is a rare treasure.
