     Recently we have had a heated discussion on whether we should keep pets in cities.

   Some students think it a good idea to keep pets because people who live alone at home can get some comfort from pets. Besides, getting along well with animals will make our life interesting. On the contrary, the other students are against the idea. In their opinion, if too many people keep pets, there will be too much waste and noise, which is sure to pollute the environment. What's more, pets may even attack people when they are out of their owners’ control.

In my view, it is not bad to keep pets because I like animals and they are man’s friends. However, we must take measures to prevent them from polluting environment and attacking people.
