As is well-known that birds are our friends. But the large number of birds have been killed for food. The other day I was walking in the woods while a shot was heard. 2.a large number of許多，大量；the number of……的數(shù)量。根據(jù)句意“許多鳥已經(jīng)被殺死了”，所以把the改為a。

3.be doing sth.…when“正在做某事……這時”，是固定結(jié)構(gòu)。所以把while改為when。

4.句意：好多鳥朝四面八方飛去。所以把bird改為birds。

5.in all directions朝四面八方，是固定結(jié)構(gòu)。所以把to改為in。

6.句意：看起來很傷心。look此處是系動詞用法，所以其后應(yīng)是形容詞。故把sadly改為sad。

7.finding是非謂語動詞，所以不能加連詞，故去掉so。
