Make Your Own iPhone Case through Toysinbox 3D Printing

Families & Teens & Adults

10:00 am – 12:30 pm

In this workshop, you will learn to design and 3D print your own iPhone case. First, you will learn how to use a 3D printer. Next, you will design a 3D model for your iPhone case that will have a lovely pattern and your name. Once you create the model, you will print it out on our 3D printers. A 3D printing worker will guide you through this process step-by-step. Come and enjoy this fun and unique learning experience!

DIY Underwater Vehicle Design in MIT Museum

Dive into the world of ocean engineering by designing and building an underwater vehicle! Test your vehicle in large tanks on the Museum’s floor. Show off your engineering creations and share your design process with Museum visitors.

Join us for a day of hands-on science fun designed especially for pre-schoolers!

Activities include the Museum’s popular “Live Animal Story Time” shows and a talk about baby animals and book-signing by children’s book authors. A tailgate party is a social event held on and around the open tailgate of a vehicle. Tailgating, which originated in the United States, often involves consuming alcoholic drinks and frilling food. What people consider essentials(必備)for tailgating spreads isn’t the same across the country. Different areas of the country have their own favorite foods for tailgating. While foods like burgers and chips may be common everywhere, some areas have specialties. For instance, those in Louisiana may consider jambalaya a tailgating must, while those in the Midwest simply can’t go without brats. And the West Coast? Don’t be surprised to see grilled fish or pasta. While dishes may differ from area to area, one thing is the same across the country: beer.

Once upon a time, there was a wonderful old man who loved everything on the land —— animals and plants.

What the man in his kindness and hurry did not understand was that the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening was nature’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were allowed to go through our life without any difficulties, it would cripple (無能) us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. And we could never fly.

China is home to the invention of silk and has a long tradition of producing fine materials for clothing. Not all clothing in ancient or contemporary（ 當(dāng)代的） China is made of silk, however. Contemporary Chinese clothing is now made of many of the same materials as contemporary clothing found in other countries. Much of the traditional Chinese clothing produced now is made of cotton and silk, but generally contemporary Chinese clothing also contains synthetic (合成的) fibers in with the cotton and silk, such as nylon (尼龍). In addition, linen (亞麻布) is now commonly used in contemporary Chinese clothing, especially during the summer months because it is light and breathable.
