根據(jù)句意可知the end of our senior high schoolthe beginning of a new life之間是并列而非轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系,故but改為and

be supposed to do是固定短語,表示應(yīng)該做……,文章的基礎(chǔ)時態(tài)為一般現(xiàn)在時,此處也用一般現(xiàn)在時,主語為We ,be用復(fù)數(shù),故在supposed前加are。

第四處:考查be supposed to的用法。句意同上,be supposed to do表示應(yīng)該做……,此處應(yīng)該用動詞原形,故being改為be

“by these things on the day”表明用的是被動語態(tài),此處用過去分詞,故moving改為moved。

express后的how引導(dǎo)賓語從句,同時“how+形容詞”在賓語從句中作am后的表語成分,how修飾表語thankful,故thankfully改為thankful

句意:我將永遠(yuǎn)記住他們?yōu)槲宜龅囊磺小?/span>remember后為賓語從句,從句中的have done缺少賓語,故應(yīng)用what來引導(dǎo)這個賓語從句,而that也是賓語從句的引導(dǎo)詞,此處出現(xiàn)引導(dǎo)詞重復(fù),故刪掉that

Consuming food can be a pleasurable thing-we enjoy the mix of tastes and textures (結(jié)構(gòu)) and it stops us feeling hungry too. Of course, food also gives us energy and the vitamins and minerals that our body needs. It’s no wonder we spend so much time preparing and eating food. But what many of us don’t consider is how our emotions are affected by what we put into our bellies.

For me, it’s the unhealthy foods that put a smile on my face-chocolate, cakes and ice cream. It might seem obvious that food that’s bad for our waistline, usually makes us happy, at least in the short term. But dieticians tell us that eating bad food long term, not only makes us put on weight but can lead to other health conditions such as diabetes (糖尿病), and it can also affect our mental state and bring on depression.

The link between our mind and food has been looked at by scientists. They’ve recently found that it’s the bacteria in our gut that affects our mood. It’s thought we have 39 trillion of these simple, small organisms (生物體) in our body. Researchers at McMaster University in Canada have found that certain “good” bacteria help reduce anxiety in mice. Experts believe that, for us humans, this means food with “good” bacteria can improve the way we feel.

Many food products are claiming to be high in this “good” bacteria and some of the best types are homemade food like miso soup, yoghurt and sauerkraut (泡菜). Doctor Michael Mosley would agree. He says the best food to cheer us up is in a “Mediterranean diet”. Olive oil; oily fish, full of omega 3, which is really good for the brain; whole grains; lots of fruits and vegetables. Sugar: terrible for you! There are other factors that can change our mood but it seems we have some ability to improve how we feel by controlling what we put on our plate. Does your diet affect your mood?

1What helps reduce anxiety in mice?

A.Good bacteria.B.Bad food.

C.Large organisms.D.Health conditions.

2We can infer from the last paragraph that ________.

A.we can improve how we feel by controlling food

B.people had better eat less cakes and ice cream

C.Mediterranean diet cheers people up

D.some of the worst food are homemade food like miso soup

3The best title of the passage may be ________.

A.The Theory of FoodB.Change Your Food

C.Food and MoodD.Enjoy Your Food

This season, the bushfires in Australia have burned more than 12.35 million acres of land. At least 25 people have been killed and 2000 homes destroyed. According to the BBC, this is the most casualties(傷亡) from wildfires in the country since 2009. The University of Sydney estimates that 480 million animals have died in South Wales alone.

Zeke Hausfather, an energy systems analyst and climate researcher at Berkeley Earth, said warmer temperatures and extreme weather have made Australia more susceptible to fires and increased the length of the fire season. “The drier conditions combined with record high temperatures in 2019 created main conditions for the disastrous fires. Australia’s fires were worsened by the combination of those two. 2019 was the perfect storm for being the warmest year on record for Australia and the driest year on record for Australia,” Hausfather added on Friday.

Kevin Trenberth, a senior scientist at the US National Center for Atmospheric Research, said warmer ocean temperatures are also contributed to more variable weather around the world. Trenberth believes that global warming contributed to energy imbalances and hot spots in the oceans, which can create a wave in the atmosphere that locks weather patterns in places, causing longer rain events in Indonesia, for example, and at the same time contributing to drought in Australia. He said that once an area experiences drought conditions for two months or more, it increases the risk of fires catching and spreading. Those changing weather patterns due to global warming make drought events longer.

Climate experts stress that climate change is not the only factor in the severity of wildfires. How land is managed can also impact the amount of fuel available for fires. Practices like controlled burns and other factors can impact the risk to people and property, such as warning systems and the type of development in a given area. Changing those policies has great potential to limit future damage from wildfires along with changes to how fire management resources are dispatched(派遣).

1What do the numbers in paragraph 1 show?

A.The causes of Australian fires.

B.The results of Australian fires.

C.The damaged areas of Australian fires.

D.The property destruction of Australian fires.

2Which of the following best explains “more susceptible to” underlined in the second paragraph?

A.Quick to adapt to.B.Sure to cause.

C.Sensitive to.D.Easy to be protected from.

3What can we infer from Trenberth's research?

A.Global warming is the root cause of the bushfires.

B.Longer dry weather contributes to global warming.

C.Warmer ocean temperatures promote fires spreading.

D.The imbalanced energy leads to the temperature rising.

4What does the author intend to do in the last paragraph?

A.To stress the effects of Australia fires.

B.To show the methods for controlling burns.

C.To predict the seriousness of Australia fires.

D.To provide some advice about reducing damage.
