One possible version:
Dear fellow students,
Before leaving our school,we call on seniors to say goodbye to our school in a perfect way. We have spent nearly three years here, during which time we’ve experienced laughs and tears, hopes and disappointments. The school means a lot to us,and what we’ve learned here will affect our future lives greatly.
Therefore,we should do something for our school. First of all,we can spare time to make our classrooms and school cleaner and more beautiful. Then we can give our used books and other useful things to younger students, and organize some gatherings to share our learning experience with them. Moreover,we can think of creative ways to thank our teachers, who devote their time and energy to equipping us with knowledge.
Come on,everybody!Let's say goodbye to our school perfectly!

For more than 10 years, the “SAS Survival Guide,” a book about outdoor tips by John “Lofty” Wiseman, has been a necessity in my camping backpack. The 400-page handbook usually comes with me on camping trips and has helped me search for food or use the sun and stars to find my way. But whenever I fly,I leave the book behind. However, what would happen if my plane crashed on a deserted island? Could I possibly create shelter from whale bones without this guide?
But no fear: the “SAS Survival Guide” comes in an app(應(yīng)用程序) and it's every bit as terrific as the book.
The user-friendly app includes guidelines from the book, and then some. There are tips for building a fire, treating a snake bite and searching for mushrooms. The first aid guide includes instructions for saving yourself if you are choking. And there are warnings: If you happen to kill a polar bear,Wiseman warns,do not eat the liver(內(nèi)臟) ,because it contains deadly amounts of vitamin A.
Sixteen videos show Wiseman teaching survival techniques, including one in which he kills a chicken. aSave the feathers. They can be useful for insulating (絕緣) clothing ,” he advises. But don't worry,no chickens were harmed in the testing of this app.
In other videos,Wiseman shows how to build shelter from plants with feathery green leaves, how to obtain drinkable water with a bag and how to construct a house from blocks of hard snow or ice.
There is room for improvement. Step-by-step videos would be more helpful than a series of pictures showing varipus knot (結(jié)) types. And the search function is complicated. On a recent camping trip,I ran across a black bear. Backing away,I searched the app for “bear,” which gave me more than 50 hits, including “bearings." Worried the bear would attack me as I looked through the results,I instead made a wide arc (弧) around her along the bank of a river. Fortunately, this was the right course,I later learned.
Still,it's a helpfiil app. If only Wiseman had tips on keeping a cellphone's battery life in the wilderness.
28. The author feels the book “SAS Survival Guide” is.
A. out-of-date B. very helpful
C. easy to carry D. too thick to read
29. According to John “Lofty” Wiseman,if you are eating a polar bear, you .
A. should avoid eating its liver
B. can take in enough vitamin A
C. should be careful not to choke
D. can save its fur to make clothes
30. The videos on the “SAS Survival Guide” app.
A. are all about outdoor tips from the book
B. show how to make various knots clearly
C. teach people how to live in the wild
D. are shot by John “Lofty” Wiseman
31. The author shows one of the app’s weaknesses.
A. by example B. by process
C. by comparison D. by classification

A group of police blocks off narrow streets with their cars. They move quietly, spot the target, and close in,taking a group of smugglers(走私販) by surprise. A few seconds later, the victims are discovered.
The location: a street market in the city of Sao Paulo,Brazil. The victims: birds,American lizards, and tortoises snatched(搶走) from the wild. The smugglers planned to sell them at the market.
“People who want to own a wild animal fbel the illegal wild animal trade,” says Juliana Machado Ferreira,a National Geographic explorer who works to fight the illegal wildlife trade. Removing too many animals from the wild upsets the balance of nature. aIf people truly love wildlife, they will want them to be free,” she says.
Each day illegally caught wild animals are carried thousands of miles to be sold as pets, food,or ingredients for traditional medicines. “Wildlife illegal trade is one of the largest illegal trades in the world, worth about 20 billion dollars a year,” says Matthew Pritchett of Freeland,an organization that fights the illegal wildlife trade. “The United States is one of the top three markets in the world for illegal wildlife products."
Smugglers use special ways to take the animals through airport security checks. But smart police use their own tricks to catch them. Read the following story.
How many finches — small singing birds — can you fit inside a purse? At least 25 ,as it turns out. When a woman from Guyana,a country in northeast South America, started acting nervously at JFK airport,U.S., customers and border protection agents x-rayed her bags. They found birds called seed finches stuffed inside hair curlers! The agent called FWS (Fish & Wildlife Service) officers to take the birds, which will live at a zoo. The woman, however, was singing a different song.

Nobody likes feeling lonely, and isolation (孤立) isn’t only a psychological problem. Loneliness increases a person’s risk of death by 26 percent,an effect comparable to the health risks posed by obesity.
So some researchers are investigating what it is,exactly, that makes lonely people stay lonely. One long-held theory has been that people become socially isolated because of their poor social skills — as they spend more time alone, the few skills they do have start to fail from lack of use. But new research suggests that this is a fundamental misunderstanding of the socially isolated. It's just that when they’ re in situations where they need those skills the most, they choke.
Professor Megan L. Knowles and her team tested the social skills of 86 undergraduates, showing them 24 faces oif a computer screen and asking them to name the basic human emotion each face was showing: anger, fear, happiness,or sadness. In the end,the lonelier students did worse than the non-lonely students on the emotion-reading task — but only when they were told they were being tested on their social skills. When the lonely were told they were just taking a general knowledge test, they performed better than the non-lonely.
So the lonelier people are,the better they are at accurately reading facial expressions and decoding tone of voice. Lonely people may be paying closer attention to emotional cues (暗示) precisely because of their willingness to belong somewhere and form interpersonal connections, which results in technically superior social skills.
This presents a fairly new way to think about lonely people. It's not that they need to improve the basics of social skills, which they,ve likely already shared. Instead, lonely people may need to focus more on getting out of their own heads,so they can actually use the skills they’ve got to form friendships and begin to find a way out of their isolation.
29. According to the traditional point of view, why do lonely people stay lonely?
A. They are happy to stay alone.
B. They are difficult to get along with.
C. They have few chances to practice social skills.
D. They are likely to misunderstand others’ opinion.
30. In the test mentioned in Paragraph 3 ,the lonely performed better when they.
A. felt not very lonely
B. were under great pressure
C. were told it was a test on social skills
D. did not know the real purpose of the test
31. Compared to non-lonely people,lonely people.
A. can better control their emotions
B. can better express their emotions
C. can better read people's emotions
D. can better handle people’s emotions
32. What inspiration may lonely people get from the text?
A. Be brave to make friends.
B. Show sincerity in friendship.
G. Find ways to learn social skills.
D. Make good use of your lonely time.

It's easy to spot signs of physical suffering, but much emotional pain can be easily masked. 36 “We don't tend to have conversations about mental well-being,” says Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen,a clinic psychologist. Simply asking someone “How are you” may just get “Fine, thank you”,says Van Dahlen. “It's important to be aware of what could lead to somebody needing help they’ re afraid to ask for ,” she adds. The following are four signs a friend might need help.
37
If you sense something different about the way your friend is acting — maybe he's not smiling much these days, for instance — trust your feelings and reach out. “Try saying ,‘I see these things. I care about you. Can I be of help?’ ” Van Dahlen says.
He's unusually unhappy or annoyed.
38 “It may take more than one time to follow up if you’ re talking to someone who is upset ,” Van Dahlen says, but if a friend responds with anger, that could mean you,re onto something.
He's less put together than usual.
Drinking more and ignoring personal hygiene (衛(wèi)生) can be signs that someone is in trouble. Don’t consider these behaviors are nothing. 39
He seems overwhelmed(壓倒) by life.
No one is happy all the time, but if your once optimistic friend can't find anything to be hopeful about,he may be having thoughts of worthlessness, sadness and something negative. “40 ” says Van Dahlen, “so that more people can get the help they need."
A. He's acting a bit more withdrawn.
B. He doesn’ t seem like himself lately.
C. Instead treat them as a sign to care for your friend.
D. Getting angry quickly and easily can be a sign that something is wrong.
E. It's a constant effort to bring into the open discussions about mental health,
F. Many people avoid talking about it no matter how close they are to someone.
G. We want people to get comfortable being more open and discussing mental health,
