Building Trust in a Relationship Again

Trust is a learned behavior that we gain from past experiences. 1. Trust is a risk. But you can’t be successful when there’s a lack of trust in a relationship that results from an action where the wrongdoer takes no responsibility to fix the mistake.

Unfortunately, we’ve all been victims of betrayal. Whether we’ve been suffer from, lied to, misled, or cheated on, there are different levels of losing trust. Sometimes people simply can’t trust anymore. 2. It’s understandable, but if you’re willing to build trust in a relationship again, we have some steps you can take to get you there.

3. Having confidence in yourself will help you make better choices because you can see what the best outcome would be for your well-being.

4. If you’ve been betrayed, you are the victim of your circumstance. But there’s a difference between being a victim and living with a “victim mentality”. At some point in all of our lives, we’ll have our trust tested or violated.

You didn’t lose “everything”. Once trust is lost, what is left? Instead of looking at the situation from this hopeless angle, look at everything you still have and be thankful for all of the good in your life. 5. Instead, it’s a healthy way to work through the experience to allow room for positive growth and forgiveness.

A. Learn to really trust yourself.

B. It is putting confidence in someone.

C. Stop regarding yourself as the victim.

D. Remember that you can expect the best in return.

E. They’ve been too badly hurt and they can’t bear to let it happen again.

F. This knowledge carries over in their attitude toward their future relationships.

G. Seeing the positive side of things doesn’t mean you’re ignoring what happened.

Vacations are important. We need to take time out from work to relax, and just be

ourselves. __1.__ We should all be allowed to leave our jobs behind us — at least for a few weeks each year — and just have fun. This might be something as simple as reading a good book in front of a warm fireplace through to travelling to the most interesting places on our planet. Whatever we fancy doing is worth taking time out for.

Workplace stress is on the rise. _2._ These include disease, depression and even death. We all seem to be running from one place to the next, never finding out where we want to go in the first place. I intend to break that trend in the coming days. __3.__ I will sleep late, write, watch movies, drink the occasional glass of wine, and eat to my heart’s content ignoring calorie counting. My plan is to just enjoy the fleeting moments of being alive.

_4.__ Spend your next vacation the way you want. Do what will restore your mental health. You’re very valuable to the people who are close to you, and to those who depend on it. Like it or not, we are all interdependent in this great life of ours.

You are valuable. Just remember that the next time you look at the mirror and take a deep breath. Remind yourself that there will never be anyone like you ever on this earth again. __5.__ All you have to do is just ask yourself what you want to do.

Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table, reading his book. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to copy him in every way he could. One day the grandson asked, “Grandpa, I try to read the book just like you, but I don’t understand it, and I forget what I understand as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the book do?”

The grandpa quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, “Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.” The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandpa laughed and said, “You’ll have to move a little faster next time,” and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again.

This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned. Out of breath, he told his grandpa that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, so he went to get a bucket instead. The grandpa said, “I don’t want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You’re just not trying hard enough.”

The boy again dipped the basket into the river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandpa the basket was empty again. Out of breath, he said, “Grandpa, it’s useless !” “So, you think it is useless?” the grandpa said, “Look at the basket.”

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time he realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean. “Grandson, that’s what happens when you read the book.
