As the weeks went on，I began to enjoy talking with Mr．Rodgerrs．We talked about his wife，his days flying in the war，and his son who had grown up and moved away．Eventually，we began to talk about my dream and my experience．
About four months after meeting Mr．Rodgers，I received a call from a nurse telling me that Mr．Rodgers was in hospital．He was experiencing an emergency heart surgery．I immediately drove to the hospital to see him．The first thing he did was thank me for helping him so much in his life．At first I didn't know what he was referring to．Then I remembered that about three weeks earlier，he was complaining about chest pains and I gave him the telephone number of a doctor I know．
After meeting Mr．Rodgers，I have learned that strangers can become friends and that life can be much more enjoyable．I recently find myself really talking to customers at the restaurant．I have had a lot more fun，and the time has gone by faster．
