【題目】______ a hole in one of the walls. Otherwise, we couldn’t have seen what was going on inside the room.

A.There happened to beB.It happened to be

C.There happened to haveD.It happened to have

【答案】A

【解析】

考查固定句式。句意:碰巧有一面墻上有個(gè)洞。否則,我們不可能看到房間里發(fā)生了什么。固定句式there happened to be表示“某處碰巧有某物”,there be表示“存在有……”,不能和have連用,C選項(xiàng)錯(cuò)誤;It happened to be表示“結(jié)果碰巧是……”,故BD選項(xiàng)與語境不符。故選A。

Plan a get-together

2. On your birthday, it’s important to spend time with those who will put a smile on your face. If you aren’t in the mood to cook a big dinner, make reservations at your favorite restaurant.
