I’d like to tell you something about the problem of pollution we are facing to. As we know, the factory beside our school gives off heavy smoke all day long. Very loudly noises hurt our ears. Rubbish and waste were thrown here or there. It also sends out pollute water and poisonous gas. All this has done great harms to the health and study of the teachers and students. But after time goes by, little has done to change the situation. I don’t think you can study well before the problem is solved. We do hope if you’ll help and support us.

定語(yǔ)從句we are facing修飾先行詞the problem,face面對(duì),及物動(dòng)詞,故去掉to。

3.were改為are 考查時(shí)態(tài)。

4.or改為and 考查短語(yǔ)。 到處都是here and there,故將or改為and。

短語(yǔ)do harm to對(duì)造成傷害。

7.after改為as考查連詞。 隨著as引導(dǎo)狀語(yǔ)從句,故將after改為as。

8.has后加been考查語(yǔ)態(tài)。

9.you改成we考查代詞。 是我們學(xué)習(xí)應(yīng)該用we,故將you改為we。

10.去掉if或者把if改為that 考查代詞。 從句you’ll help and support us作代詞hope的賓語(yǔ),用代詞that引導(dǎo),只起連接詞的作用,不充當(dāng)成分,故把if去掉或者把if改為that。

Climate change may make parts of the Middle East too hot for human beings, according to a new study.

Researchers have been studying weather conditions in the Middle East since 1970. They say “very hot” days in the area have doubled over that period. They say temperatures in summer in the Middle East and North Africa will continue rising. They believe by 2050, temperatures will not fall below 30 degrees Celsius at night in the hottest part of summer, and day-time temperatures could rise to 46 degrees Celsius. Temperatures at noon could reach as high as 50 Celsius. Heat waves are likely to last longer.

“If mankind continues to release carbon dioxide as it does now, people living in the Middle East and North Africa will have to expect about 200 unusually hot days,” says Panos Hadjinicolaou, a climate change expert with the Cyprus Institute.

The researchers also looked at the amount of “fine particulate (顆粒) air pollution” in the Middle East. They found that the amount of dust in the atmosphere over Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Syria jumped 70 percent since the start of the century. This, they say, could have resulted from an increase in the number of sand storms caused by climate change.

The researchers created two models. In one model, rising temperatures are limited because of reductions in greenhouse gases. The other model is said to be a “business as usual” model where nothing is done to stop climate change. Under both models, the future of the Middle East is not good, the researchers say. They added that climate change can result in a slow worsening of living conditions for people in North Africa and the Middle East and in time many people may have to leave the regions.

The moon is providing a rare triple treat this week. On Wednesday, much of the world will get to see not only a blue moon and a “supermoon”, but also a total lunar eclipse(月蝕). Having all three events taking place at the same time is extremely unusual.

A total lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Sun and a full moon. The Earth blocks the sun’s light, making the moon appear dark in the sky. A blue moon is a second full moon in one month. It is rare enough that English speakers use the expression “once in a blue moon”to describe it! A supermoon is a full or new moon. It appears brighter and bigger than usual because the moon is closer to the earth than usual.

In a total lunar eclipse, the Earth covers the moon’s surface with its shadow, giving it a red-like color. For that reason, it is also known as a “blood moon. ”Some people are calling this week’s lunar event a “super blue blood moon.” Noah Petro is a scientist with the American space agency NASA. He is calling the lunar event, “the Super Bowl of moons.” No matter what the name, it is likely to impress if the skies are clear.

Just as last August’s total solar eclipse cooled the Earth’s surface, a lunar eclipse cools the surface of the moon. It’s this sudden cooling- from the heat of direct sunlight to almost a deep freeze—that researchers will be studying.

1Which of the following picture shows a total lunar eclipse?

A. B.

C. D.

2What does the underlined phrase in paragraph 2 usually refer to?

A. Something that is rarely noticed.

B. Something that is round and bright.

C. Something that does not happen often.

D. Something that can arouse people’s curiosity.

3What will the lunar eclipse do to the moon?

A. Make it absorb less heat.

B. Make it give off less heat.

C. Make its inner part cooler.

D. Make its surface heat go down.

4What’s the main idea of the passage?

A. It explains how the lunar eclipse happens.

B. It tells us NASA’s achievements in observing the moon.

C. It offers us some information about a rare total lunar eclipse.

D. It is about the effects that the lunar eclipse will have on the moon.
