讀寫任務 (共1題, 滿分25分)
閱讀下面的短文, 然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語短文。
Smoking is very common in the West, both by men and women. But there are still people who do not smoke and dislike the smoke of the others. Be careful not to smoke in such a position that your smoke blows into other’s faces. If you are a guest in a home where no others are smoking, it is better not to smoke. If you think they would not mind your smoking you may say, “Would you mind if I smoked?” There are many places where people do not or should not smoke: public meetings, movies and plays, trains (except in the smoking car), buses, at the dinner table (except when invited by the hostess near the end of the meal to do so). Many people feel that ladies should not smoke on the street. Be a clean smoker—— be careful with the cigarette ash and be careful not to burn the furniture or table cloth.

The reading passage mainly tells that smoking is a very common phenomenon in western countries and there are some social rules people are supposed to obey if they smoke.
In our city, there are many people who smoke, too. Smokers can be seen almost everywhere, even in some public places like restaurants or buses. For those who like smoking, some regard it an effective way to relax themselves, some take it as a useful tool to communicate with others, and others think it is the symbol of smartness and maturity. On the contrary, people who are against smoking think it does great harm to the health of smokers and those who are forced to be second-smokers.
I’m firmly against smoking and feel sorry to see some classmates secretly smoke after school. They think smoking make them look smart. Some even try every means to get money to buy cigarettes, which in fact is really dangerous.

讀寫任務(共1題,滿分25分)
閱讀下面摘自China Daily的一則信息,然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語短文。
The Ministry of Education said on Monday that starting this spring, a system of recycling textbooks will be established in rural primary and secondary schools, which means some textbooks will be given to students by the schools free of charge at the start of a term and be returned at the end of the school term so that they can be used by other students.
The central government will set up a fund for the purchase of these textbooks, and the students will be required to keep the books in good order for their reuse by others.
It is a heartening move with two major benefits.
First, it will lighten the financial burden on government and families. Textbook costs account for 53 percent of all the fees primary school students must pay and about 65 percent of those facing middle school students.
Second, using secondhand books is environmentally friendly because of the resources such as trees and energy that are saved. According to industry figures, producing one ton of texbook paper requires 20 trees aged between 20 to 40 years, 100 tons of water, 1.2 tons of coal and other materials and churns out 300 tons of polluted water.

讀寫任務(共1題,滿分25分)
閱讀下面的短文,然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語短文。
There is no doubt that watching television can influence the way that people behave. Moreover, it seems that people are spending more and more time watching some sort of visual entertainment, whether it is television, a video tape or a DVD. Therefore, the effects of visual media cannot be ignored.
One obvious effect of these media is that watching them induces people to buy certain products. Television advertising is widespread and, nowadays, even movie theaters permit advertisements. Another way TV and the movies affect people is that they give people either a broader view of the world or a distorted one, depending on what type of program they watch. Those who watch news and educational program can learn many new things while those who watch primarily entertainment shows may come to believe that most people in the world possess great wealth and good looks. It may make them become dissatisfied with their own lives. Finally, perhaps the most susceptible viewers are children, who may be unable to tell fact from fiction and may try to imitate acts that they see on TV or in the movies. And this is just what most parents and our society are worried about.
With the every-increasing popularity of video entertainment, we must pay attention to these effects.

第二節(jié) 讀寫任務(共1題,滿分25分)
閱讀下面短文,然后按照要求寫一篇150詞左右的英語短文。
As I got into a taxi one afternoon, the driver was very angry about something that had happened to him earlier that day. Here’s how he told the story:
“One of my fares (旅客) left a wallet in my cab this morning. Nearly three hundred dollars in it. I spent more than an hour trying to trace the guy. Finally I found him at his hotel. He took the wallet without a word and glared at me as though I’d meant to steal it.”
“He didn’t give you a reward?” I asked.
“Not a cent. But it wasn’t the money I wanted,” he fumbled, then exploded, “If the guy had only said something…”
Why was the driver so upset? All he wanted was something simple, but even more valuable than money: to be thanked for his efforts. In short, what he wanted, what he needed but did not get, was a little bit of gratitude.
