I was often laughed at my classmates before I turned 14 because I was always very nervous when talking to someone. Helpful and sad, I felt that I could hardly do nothing. You cannot imagine what great difficulty I have in my life. And later, something happened, what changed my life completely. It was an English speech contest and my mother encouraged me to take part in it. I tried my best to remember the whole speech “Believe in yourself” and practised them over 100 times. Believe it or not, I finally won the first prize. Heard the cheers from the teachers and students, I stood there, with my eyes full with excited tear.
【1】laughed at—laughed at by
【2】Helpful—Helpless
【3】去掉hardly或nothing—anything
【4】have—had
【5】And—But
【6】what—which
【7】them—it
【8】Heard—Hearing
【9】with—of或者full—filled
【10】tear—tears
【1】laughed at—laughed at by考查介詞。Laugh at sb嘲笑某人,be laughed at by被……
Could do nothing無能為力,與could hardly do anything意思相同。
【4】have—had考查時態(tài)。
【5】And—But 考查連詞。
【6】what—which考查定語從句。 所以用which。
【7】them—it 考查代詞。這個演講我練習了100多遍,用it指代上文提到的the whole speech “Believe in yourself”。
【9】with—of或者full—filled考查固定短語。Be full of/be filled with 充滿。
