l Take shorter showers. Water heaters use a lot of energy.
l Open your refrigerator door only when necessary. Each time you open the door, the compressor(壓縮機) will run for 8-10 minutes to keep the inside cold.
l Ask your parents to replace your regular lights with fluorescent(熒光的)lights. They use about a fourth of the energy of regular lights.

Nowadays our life is becoming better and almost every family owns household electrical appliances. So life relies heavily on electricity. Without electricity, we cannot watch TV or play computer games, or even cannot cook our dinner.
China is facing energy shortage because we consume a lot of it every day. So saving energy becomes very important for us. Here are some methods for you to save electricity when you use electric lights.
1.      Use small bulbs that consume less electricity in your room.
2.      Try to use fluorescent bulbs instead of regular bulbs.
3.      Form a habit of turning off the lights when you leave the room.
4.      Turn off the lights when you watch TV or when you are doing things that don’t need lights.
