The Mid-Autumn Day is a traditional festival with a long history in China. It falls on the 15th August of the Chinese lunar year, when people of a family get together and enjoy the dinner together. After that they eat mooncakes , which stands for the spirits of the festival—unity. Often, if the weather permits, they will go out of the house to enjoy the bright moonlight, talking about something pleasant. It is one of the most important festivals for Chinese people.

With a big smile on his face he said, “Wow! You are the first person to give me some sandwiches and drink, and some tasty food. This is my son’s lucky day.”
With that, he thanked me happily. There was a warm feeling inside me and I knew I had done something good. I now understand what the real meaning of “Giving is getting” is.

The third son disagreed, he said it was filled with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful that it was the most graceful things he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them, insisting that it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and satisfaction.
The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had seen but one season in the tree’s life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by one season. If you give up when it’s winter, you’ll miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, and satisfaction of your fall.
Don’t let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest!
