A gathering of more than 700 oriental storks(東方白鸛)was recorded at Naolihe National Nature Reserve in Heilongjiang Province last month. Such a big gathering has been seen before in the reserve. The researchers had often recorded only about 150 in the past autumns. Now the population of the large white birds for black wing feathers and long legs are estimated at 3.000 in the world. It is certain a sign that the reserve’s conservation is better now and before. The reserve is considered it as one of the most important stopover site for oriental storks. The storks winter in it and the researchers will keep a eye on the birds until you fly away.
