As students, we have classes from early morning till late afternoon. Therefore, take a ten-minute break between class is definitely important, even necessary. Otherwise we may feel both physically or mentally tired. During the ten-minute break we did something to get rid of tiredness. What we need is to have real rest instead of getting even tired. So don’t do anything what will make you too much excited. My ten-minute break is always pleasing. I usually do some simple exercises. Sometime I have a free chat with my classmates or just take a walk during the break. When the new class begins, I feel freshly again.

【答案】

【1】take---taking

【2】class---classes

【3】or---and

【4】did---do

【5】have后加a

【6】even后加more

【7】what---that

【8】去掉much

【9】Sometime --- Sometimes

【10】freshly--- fresh

【解析】

【1】take---taking 作句子主語(yǔ),故用動(dòng)名詞。

【2】class---classes 在“課與課之間”,是復(fù)數(shù)含義,所以class →classes。

【3】or---and 這里想說(shuō)我們會(huì)在身體和精神上都感到疲憊,所以or →and。

【4】did---do 句意:課間十分鐘我們要消除一些疲勞。根據(jù)句意可知是一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)態(tài),故把did---do。

【5】have后加a 表示泛指“一次真正的休息”,故real之前加a。

【6】even后加more even修飾比較級(jí),故even后加more或刪去even。

【7】what---that anything做先行詞,后面是定語(yǔ)從句,句子缺少引導(dǎo)詞和主語(yǔ),故把what---that。

【8】去掉much too much修飾可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù),故去掉much。

【9】Sometime --- Sometimes 這里表示有時(shí)候,我和我的同學(xué)們閑聊,所以Sometime →Sometimes。

【10】freshly--- fresh 用形容詞修飾名詞,所以freshly →fresh。

Things to Do When You’re Feeling Down

Let’s start with a fact. We all have days when we feel down and discouraged. 【1】 Here is a list to help you get back on track.

1. Take Care of Yourself

This may seem like an obvious thing, but try your best to get a good night’s sleep and eat healthy food when you’re hungry. 2 Consider setting an earlier bedtime than usual and stick to it. Make some nourishing snacks that you can easily grab instead of sugary junk food. Fresh fruit, a piece of cheese, some cut-up vegetables, homemade soup; they’re all quick and easy options to consider.

2. What’s Comforting to You?

3 Take a bike ride or go for a walk in nature. Treat yourself to a lunch at your favorite restaurant. Listen to some good music. Call a friend. Watch a funny movie. Take a nap. Read a good book. The release from stress will add to your level of happiness.

3. Make an Action Plan

Can you identify what’s making you unhappy? If so, you have a good chance of changing it. 4 You don’t have to figure out a whole plan to solve your conflicts; simply taking some steps in the right direction will boost your good feeling.

4. This, Too, Shall Pass

What do you say to yourself when you’re going through a tough time? Beating yourself up is not helpful! 5 Examples are, “It is what it is; let me just accept it and move on.’’ “All I can do is put one foot in front of the other and keep moving.” And finally, “This, too, shall pass.”

A. Science shows that both of these things can have a huge positive impact on both your mood and your blood sugar

B. A lot of researches show that when we intend to be happy, our thoughts and actions follow suit.

C. What action can you take today that will make you feel better and change the pattern?

D. What can you do to pull yourself back from despair?

E. Try saying things that are relieving to your hearts and mind.

F. Other times, the blues just seem to hit for no reason at all.

G. If you’re going through a tough time, think about some healthy comforts that will make you feel better.

【題目】Lisa Pina never thought she would need the fire safety training she received during her apprenticeship (學(xué)徒期) as a union painter and dry waller. On Friday morning, she was thanking God she had it.

On Thursday night, while Pina was babysitting her granddaughter, nephew and two nieces in her sister’s apartment, she smelled smoke and realized the apartment building was on fire. When her 4yearold granddaughter Ilean Garcia began saying,“We’re going to die,”she knew she had to act.Pina,39,first sealed the door, and then told all four children to get on the floor.
