Last Sunday morning, when I was having a walk in the park near my home, I came across a crew make a new film with one of my favorite actor. I didn’t have my camera with me at that time, but I rushed back home to get. Unfortunately, by the time I got back, they have finished the scene and the actor couldn’t be seen everywhere.
but表示轉(zhuǎn)折;so表示前因后果,and表示并列。
這里用it代替上文的my camera .
根據(jù)by the time I got back 可知在回來之前就已經(jīng)走了,故表示過去的過去也就是過去完成時(shí),故用had.
walk out of a building從樓里走出來。
in the front of在某物的前面(指內(nèi)部);in front of在某物的前面(指外部)這里表示在某人的前面。
not only …but also放在句首時(shí)not only后的句子用倒裝,因?yàn)榍懊嬉呀?jīng)有did,故后面用原形have.

B
We have two daughters: Kristen is seven years old and Kelly is four. Last Sunday evening, we invited some people home for dinner. I dressed them nicely for the party, and told them that their job was to join Mommy in answering the door when the bell rang. Mommy would introduce them to the guests, and then they would take the guests’ coats upstairs and put them on the bed in the second bedroom.
The guests arrived. I introduced my two daughters to each of them. The adults were nice and kind and said how lucky we were to have such good kids.
Each of the guests made a particular fuss over Kelly, the younger one, admiring her dress, her hair and her smile. They said she was a remarkable girl to be carrying coats upstairs at her age.
I thought to myself that we adults usually make a big “to do” over the younger one because she’s the one who seems more easily hurt. We do it with the best of intentions.
But we seldom think of how it might affect the other child. I was a little worried that Kristen would feel she was being outshined. I was about to serve dinner when I realized that she had been missing for twenty minutes. I ran upstairs and found her in the bedroom, crying.
I said, “What are you doing, my dear?”
She turned to me with a sad expression and said, “Mommy, why don’t people like me the way they like my sister?” Is it because I’m not pretty? Is that why they don’t say nice things about me as much?
I tried to explain to her, kissing and hugging her to make her feel better.
Now, whenever I visit a friend’s home, I make it a point to speak to the elder child first.

Last Sunday my father and I went fishing along a river. We found the water very dirty
that we could hardly catch any fish in it. A lot of factories along the river always poured
their waste water and rubbish straightly into the river, which made the river polluting. In
this way most of the fish in the river was killed. Unless the rivers all over the country are
polluted like this, no living things will be exist in the water. As we all know, environmental
pollution do great harm to living things. Now more and more people have realized what
serious this problem is. Our government is doing her best to take measure to fight against
pollution. We expect that water in every river will be made cleaner and cleaner before
long.
