I’m real glad to receive your letter. As you have seen it, lots of Chinese chose to stick the character Fu on the door upside down during the Spring Festival. This actually expresses their best wish for the new year. In Chinese, the character for “upside down” sounds same as the character for “ to arrive” so this means that happy is arriving. Quite interested, isn’t it?

On the way, I’d like to invite you to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival with my family after the College Entrance Exam. It’s a day in memory of the great poet Qu Yuan but we usually eat Zongzi and enjoy dragon boat races. It will be a good opportunity to experience Chinese culture and tradition.
