【4】do you get
【5】who/that
【6】an
【7】finding
【8】when / if
【9】Not
【10】can
【1】 to celebrate 本句使用不定式做定語修飾名詞a day;父親節(jié)是表示對父親的愛的節(jié)日。
【4】do you get 當(dāng)Only放句首并強(qiáng)調(diào)狀語的時候,使用部分倒裝的形式。
【5】who/that 本句是定語從句,who/that指代先行詞one tough guy在句中做主語,因為先行詞one tough guy是指人的名詞,所以使用who/that。
【7】finding 本句中使用動名詞定語finding a gift for a man在句中做主語,動詞find是不能在句中做主語的。
【9】Not 固定搭配not only…but also…;而且not only后面的句子還要使用部分倒裝的形式。

Most of us spend our lives seeking the natural world. We go fishing, sit in the garden, have a picnic, live in the suburbs or go to the seaside. The most popular leisure activity in Britain is going for a walk. When joggers jog, they don't run the streets. Every one of them tend to go to the park or the river.
But despite this, our children are growing up naturedeprived(剝奪). I spent my boyhood climbing trees. These days, children are robbed of these ancient freedoms, due to problems like crime, traffic, the loss of the open spaces and strange new ideas about what is best for children, that is to say, things that can be bought, rather than things that can be found.
The truth is to be found elsewhere. A study in the US: families had moved to better housing and the children were assessed for ADHD—attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(多動癥). Those whose accommodation had more natural views showed an improvement of 19%; those who had the same improvement in material surroundings but no nice view improved just 4%.
ADHD is one of the great problems of modern childhood. One study after another indicates that contact with nature gives huge benefits to ADHD children. However, we spend money on drugs rather than on green places.
The life of old people is measurably better when they have access to nature. The increasing concern for the growing population of old people is in quality rather than quantity of years. And study after study finds that a garden is the single most important thing in finding that quality. Even problems with crime and aggressive behaviour are reduced when there is contact with the natural world.
We need the wild world. It is essential to our wellbeing, our health and our happiness.
【1】According to the author, people enjoy ________ to seek nature.
A.jogging on the street
B.sitting in the garden
C.shopping in the supermarket
D.running in the gym

A.a(chǎn)dults deprive the children of their rights to approach nature
B.climbing trees will certainly do good to the children
C.children probably spend less time in nature nowadays
D.children tend to be happier as a result of their material satisfaction
【3】In what way do people benefit from their contact with nature?
A.Children with ADHD can be cured.
B.A garden nearby improves the quality of old people's life.
C.Problems with crime and violent behaviour will easily be solved.
D.Children's performance at school is greatly improved.
【4】What is the main idea of this passage?
A.Access to nature improves our life.
B.Nature treats children for ADHD.
C.Getting close to nature reduces crime.
D.Man can't live without natural areas.

As you move around your home, take a good look at the things you have. It is likely that your living room will have a television set and a video, and your kitchen a washing machine and a microwave oven. Your bedroom drawers will be filled with almost three times as many clothes as you need. You almost certainly own a car and possibly a home computer, holiday abroad at least once a year and eat out at least once a week.
Now, perhaps, more than ever before, people are wondering what life is all about, and what it is for. Seeking material success is beginning to trouble large numbers of people around the world. They feel that the long hours work culture to make more money is eating up their lives, leaving them very little time or energy for family or pastimes. Many are turning to other ways of living and downshifting is one of them. Six percent of workers in Britain took the decision to downshift last year.
One couple who downshifted is Daniel and Liz. They used to work in central London. He was a newspaper reporter and she used to work for an international bank. They would go to work by train every day from their large house in the suburbs, leaving their two children with a nanny. Most evenings Daniel wouldn’t get home until eight or nine o’clock and nearly twice a month he would have to fly to New York for meetings. They both earned a large amount of money but began to feel that life was passing them by.
Nowadays, they run a farm in the mountains of Wales. “I always wanted to have a farm then,” says Daniel, “and we took almost a year to make the decision to downshift. It’s taken some getting used to, but it’s been worth it. We have to think twice now about spending money on car repairs and we no longer have any holidays. However, I think it’s made us stronger as a family, and the children are a lot happier.
Liz, however, is not quite sure. “I used to enjoy my job, even though it was hard work and long hours. I’m not really a country girl, but I suppose I’m gradually getting used to looking after the animals. One thing I do like, though, is being able to see more of my children. My advice for other people wanting to do the same is not to think about it too much or you might not do it at all.”

A.people seldom work long hours to make money
B.people hardly buy more things than necessary
C.people are sure everything they own is in the right place

C.missed his children D.was well paid
【3】Daniel and Liz both agree that the move to the farm ________.

C.was extremely expensive D.has been a total success
【4】What does the author mean by saying “the long hours work culture to make more money is eating up their lives” in the second paragraph?
A.People work long hours to earn their living.
B.To make more money through hard work is the aim of people’s life.
