【題目】書面表達(dá)

Human Flesh Search—thousands of individuals working to find and make public someone’s personal information, mostly online—will be ruled as leaking personal data, which is against the law, according to China’s top court.

Internet users or network service providers who leak people’s personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, and clinical data will have to hold legal responsibility.

Network service providers will also be held responsible if they are aware that their users have violated others’ rights but have failed to take action.

The decision comes after years of arguments over whether it’s right for the public to try those who behave wrongly.

On the one hand, cyber hunting does have its positive influences. Some public officials have been removed from their positions after human flesh searches led to corruption investigations. During disasters like the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, the search method also helped many people to find their loved ones.

But many think that online cyber hunting is creating a threat to privacy. “People’s ‘unusually high enthusiasm’ makes the human flesh search engine phenomenon unique,” Xujun Eberlein, a Chinese American author and commentator, told Forbes. “Participants often ‘reach out their hands’ thoughtlessly, violating people’s rights instead of being righteous(正直).”

【題目】Sharing Beauty

It was in October. I was aimlessly wandering down the street, heading into a most gloriously beautiful sunset. I had an urge to speak to someone on the street to share that beauty, but it seemed everyone was in a hurry.

I took the next-best action. Quickly I ducked into a department store and asked the lady behind the counter if she could come outside for just a minute. She looked at me as though I were from some other planet. She hesitated, and then seemingly against her better judgment, she moved toward the door.

When she got outside I said to her, “Just look at that sunset! Nobody out here was looking at it and I just had to share it with someone.”

For a few seconds we just looked. Then I said, “God is in his heaven and all is right with the world.” I thanked her for coming out to see it; she went back inside and I left. It felt good to share the beauty.

Four years later my situation changed greatly. I came to the end of a twenty-year marriage. I was alone and on my own for the first time in my life. I lived in a trailer park which, at the time, I considered a real come-down, and I had to do my wash in the community laundry room.

One day, while my clothes were going around, I picked up a magazine and read an article about a woman who had been in similar circumstances. She had come to the end of a marriage, moved to a strange community, and the only job she could find was one she disliked: clothing sales in a department store.

Then something that happened to her changed everything. She said a woman came into her department store and asked her to step outside to look at a sunset. The stranger had said, “God is in his heaven and all is right with the world,” and she had realized the truth in that statement. From that moment on, she turned her life around.

1The author asked the woman to go outside to ______.

A. admire the sunset B. cheer her up

C. offer some help D. have a chat

2Four years later, the author______.

A. found her dream job B. put an end to her marriage

C. worked in a laundry room D. lived in the same community

3After reading the article in the magazine, the author was probably______.

A. disappointed B. puzzled

C. inspired D. overjoyed

Did you know that if you need an alarm clock to wake up in the morning, you’re probably sleep-deprived (缺失)? __【1】_______ . On average, American teens get two hours less than the average 9.2 hours of sleep they need each night to function at their best.

There are many reasons why teens don’t get enough sleep. ____2______ . When your parents were young, they might have read a book or watched television before trying to go to sleep. But today’s teens are likely to be surfing the Internet, texting, emailing, or playing video games right before bed. ___3_____ . And using them right before bed can result in difficulty getting to sleep. According to a survey by the National Sleep Foundation, teens with four or more electronic equipment in their rooms are much more likely than their peers to get an insufficient amount of sleep at night, and are almost twice as likely to fall asleep in school and while doing homework.

___4______ . In the National Sleep Foundation survey, three-quarters of the teens took at least one drink with caffeine every day, and nearly one-third consumed two or more every day. With all the trendy “high-energy” drinks and coffees out there right now, it’s easy to get a caffeine overload and that’s not good for sleep.

So what can you do if you’re in lack of sleep? “The good news is that you only have to make up about a third of what you have lost, to function and feel better,” says Dr. Mahowald at a sleep disorders center. ____5______ . But sleeping until noon on the weekend can cause problems you’ll likely be wide-eyed until late those nights. Instead, try keeping a reasonable, regular sleeping and waking schedule.

A. One of them is a relatively new development.

B.Those extra two hours of sleep on Saturday and Sunday mornings can really help.

C.Most teens don’t get enough sleep.

D.Many teens also drink too much caffeine to sleep well.

E.Electronic devices are more exciting than simply watching television.

F.Researchers also have found that biology plays a role in teens’ sleep patterns.

G.Many school districts are shifting their start times to later morning for school students.
