You are in a beautiful place enjoying the landscape, maybe fishing, but suddenly the peace and quiet is interrupted by the noisy sound of a cell phone! Cell phones are everywhere, and some people don’t know what the limits of cell phone use are.
Nowadays, that’s the biggest problem. People disturb other people, first with the ringing of their cell phones and then with their conversations because they usually speak very loudly. Not everybody in a public place should have to listen to private conversations.
People need to learn how to use cell phones correctly. If there is an emergency, cell phone are acceptable; but remember that just a few years ago few people had cell phones and the whole society survived! Nowadays people can’t seem to live without using the cell phones. They talk in restaurants, in restrooms, in hospitals, and at parties. It’s incredible!
It’s like smoking. Just as people don’t want to be bothered by smokers, they don’t want to be disturbed by cell phone talkers. Our society has to learn to respect other people. It would be great if loud talking was seen as really bad manners. The use of cell phones must be restricted in places such as cinemas, theatres, museums, classrooms, and hospitals.
Nowadays, people just laugh when a cell phone rings in these places, but it’s just the beginning. So in the future I think things are going to change. They should have got tickets when they use them in inappropriate places, like people get parking tickets when they park in inappropriate places. So, we have to write some rules to restrict, or even prohibit, cell phone use in some places. New rules of etiquette (禮儀) are needed for new behaviors in our lives such as using cell phones. It’s going to have to be part of our education in the future.
56. According to the passage, how does the cell phone trouble others? (Within 20 words)

Homework is a great way for kids to develop independent, lifelong learning skills, so here are some general homework tips for parents:
● Make sure your child has a quiet, well-lit place to do homework.
Avoid having your child do homework with the television on or in places with other distractions, such as people coming and going.
● Make sure the materials your child needs, such as some paper, pencils and a dictionary, are available.
Ask your child if special materials will be needed for some projects and get them in advance.
● Help your child with time management.
Establish a set time each day for doing homework. Don’t let your child leave homework until just before bedtime. Think about using a weekend morning or afternoon for working on big projects, especially if the project involves getting together with classmates.
● Be positive about homework.
Tell your child how important school is. The attitude you express about homework will be the attitude your child acquires.
● When your child asks for help, provide guidance, not answers.
Giving answers means your child will not learn the material. Too much help teaches your child that when the going gets rough, someone will do the work for him or her.
Cooperation with the teacher. It shows your child that the school and home are a team. Follow the directions given by the teacher.
● Reward progress in homework.
If your child has been successful in homework completion and is working hard, celebrate that success with a special event (e.g. pizza, a walk, a trip to the park) to reinforce the positive effort.

Football is, I believe, the most popular game in England: one has only to go to the important matches to see this. Rich and poor, young and old, one can see them all there, shouting for one side or the other.
To a stranger, one of the most surprising things about football in England is the great knowledge of the game which even the smallest boy seems to have. He can tell you the names of the players in most of the important teams. He will tell you who he expects will win such a match, and his opinion is usually as good as that of men three or four times his age.
Most schools in England take football seriously-much more seriously than nearly all European schools, where lessons are all very important and games are left for the children themselves. In England it is believed that education is not only a matter filling a boy’s mind with facts in the classroom: education also means the training of character; and one of the best ways of training character is by means of games, especially team games; where a boy or girl has to learn to work with others for his or her team, instead of working for oneself alone. The school therefore plans games and matches for its students. Football is a good team game. It is good both for the body and the mind. That’s why it is every school’s game in England.
67. In passage 1, by “this” the author means ________.
A. people often go to football games.
B. people, rich and poor, young and old, play football
C. football is the most popular game in England
D. people usually shout at each other in a football match
68. In England school boys seem _________ about football games.
A. not to know much         B. to know a great deal
C. know little               D. know nothing
69. In England, a boy’s opinion of a match is often ________.
A. three or four times better than that of adults
B. worse than that of adults
C. as good as that of adults
D. worth considering three or four times than adults
70. In almost all European schools, lessons are_______.
A. left for the children themselves
B. what the children like best
C. as important as football games
D. considered the most important
71. In England, education means_______.
A. filling a boy’s mind with stories
B. more than the teaching of knowledge
C. the teaching of knowledge only
D. training character by means of football games

Getting to the top is hard enough but staying there is an even greater challenge. And so it could be argued that the 10th World Championship 400m victory by Tonique Williams Darling is even more remarkable than when she struck Olympic gold in 2004.
Coming off the final turn the 27-year-old from the Bahamas held off the attack of both Sanya Richards (USA) and the former World champion Ana Guevara of Mexico displaying a hunger that permanent champions must have.
"I would say that being able to pull off the Olympic title and then come back a year later and pull off the World Championship title has just been a miler coaster (過山車) experience for me," she revealed. "It's really an historical moment for me and for the Bahamas, just to be able to do something like this. And so I feel really humbled and grateful and just overjoyed right now."
"It is not an easy experience. I will tell you, definitely, that in the off-season it was just a struggle to go out there every day and practice because coming off the top races and after the Olympics experience you are just kind of worn out mentally. It's not even physical. So you just go with the season, and work through it, and by the time, like two weeks away from this competition, I was hungry again and ready to be competitive."
Williams Darling credits a support group of friends and family, her husband, Bahamian 400m runner Denis Darling, with keeping her grounded when the natural tendency would be to celebrate and then rest on one's laurels (桂冠,榮譽(yù)), Most importantly she credits her Christian faith.
"My life has changed a little bit (since winning the Olympics) but as far as the competition and training it hasn't changed that much,' she declares. "One thing I have tried to do is to train like I have never won anything before. And I think that it was achieved because I could have been lackadaisical (無精打采的) and blown off the season or whatever. I just stayed in there and knew that everybody else was coming after me. That really helped me to stay motivated this season."
46. The underlined words "credit' in paragraph 5 probably means
A. believe somebody
B. add money to the bank
C. attributes her success to those who have supported her
D. record, payment of money

C. Tonique Williams Darling.                D. Ana Guevara.
48. According to the passage we can infer that _________.
A. the 10th World Championship was held in 2005.
B. Tonique Williams Darling's husband was her coach.
C. Denis Darling used to be a winner of the 400m of the Olympics
D. Sanya Richards only won at the .10~ World Championship
