【答案】
One possible version:
Dear Lucy,
I learned about your plan from your mail. Welcome to Beijing! I’m so happy that I can see you soon. You said you’re going to buy several kites as souvenir. I think that’s a good idea. Kites were invented in China. They represent Chinese culture. As for your tour in Beijing, I suggest you pay a visit to the Forbidden City, which used to be the Palace while the emperors ruled China. I believe you will be amazed by the ancient buildings there.
I hope you’ll have a good time during your stay in Beijing. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Best wishes!
Sincerely Yours,
Li Hua

There is an old Spanish saying which states, "Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the week." How many times have we put off our dreams until tomorrow? 【1】 We have to go for them now!
·Tomorrow is not promised.
Nobody likes to talk about death, but everybody is going to die at one point. None of us know the day or the hour. 【2】 Don't go to your tomb with unrealized dreams. Make the decision to go after every dream, big or small right now.
·【3】.
One of the biggest dream killers is fear. Many people could have achieved amazing things if only they weren't afraid. Just think about all the things you've wanted to do, but allowed fear to convince you that you weren't capable, or good enough. Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Choose not to let fear stop you from achieving your dreams.
·Take action to realize your dream.
You can dream about writing a great play but it's never going to happen unless you actually put pen to paper. You can dream about finding a cure for cancer, but it will never happen unless you actually become equipped with the necessary tools to find that cure. 【4】.
·Possibilities are waiting on you.
There are so many amazing opportunities and people waiting on you. How do you get to them? Simple! Follow your dream. 【5】 You'll never see those doors if you sit around waiting on a dream to happen, instead of actually working to make it happen.
A. Our dreams should not, and cannot wait.
B. Therefore, today is all we have.
C. Don't let fear win.
D. In other words, dreams don't work unless you do.
E. Doors that you couldn't imagine open up when you go after what you want.
F. You were born into the world with a unique gift, which nobody can copy.
G. You'll be much happier if you go for it.

On a mid-September day, British climbers Rachel Kelsey and Jeremy Colenso were climbing in the Swiss Alps.
When they left their base, the weather was good, and they reached the top of the mountain. Snow began to fall, making it difficult to see where they could put their hands and feet on the rock. After several frightening minutes, they found a narrow ledge(巖石架) and climbed on to it, hoping the snow would stop and they could continue to climb down.
“We had to stay awake,” said Rachel, “because it was so cold that we could have died. So we told stories and rubbed our fingers to keep them warm.”
But what could they do? Rachel had brought her mobile phone with her, but all the people she could get in touch with were in London. Still, she sent a text message at 1:30 a.m. to get help. It read: “Need heli rescue off Piz Badile, Switzerland”. At 5:00 a.m., one friend, Avery Cunliffe, got the message. He jumped into action, called the rescue services in Switzerland, and called Rachel to tell her that help was coming.
The weather was too bad for the helicopters to operate, but Avery kept sending text messages to the climbers. “We owe our lives to Avery,” they said when they were back at base.
A. They were both experienced climbers.
B. They decided that they had to get help.
C. They were all asleep, and nothing happened.
D. She sent the same text to five friends in the UK.
E. At about 10:00 p.m. they were lifted off the mountain.
F. The snow did not stop and the temperature dropped to -10℃.
G. But as they started the climb down, a storm struck the mountain.
