答案:
解析: Text
1 W: Today we are going to have a new unit,
Unit 8 on Page 34. M: But how about the question I asked
last period? W:
I'll explain it this time. Text
2 M: Is there anything else you want to buy
while we are in town? W: Let's stop at the camera shop to get
some color films. I want to take some pictures in our garden today. Text
3 M: Will you please fix the button for me,
dear? W: Oh, I am so busy now. I have to prepare
breakfast for the children. Their school bus will be here at 7:30. Text
4 W: Have you ever known anything as
unlucky as Mary Green? The most terrible things keep happening to her. M: Yes, if you can trust what she says,
but most of her stories are pretty unbelievable in my opinion. Text
5 W: My English teacher suggested that I
come in and borrow a French-English dictionary. M: Of course, Miss. You're welcome to use
our dictionaries, but they may not be taken out of the library. Wouldn't it be
better if you had one of your own? Text
6 M: Excuse me, does this train go to Bank? W: No, I'm afraid it doesn't. This one
goes to Court Road and Charring Cross. M: But this is a northern line train,
isn't it? W: Yes, it is. But unfortunately it's got
two branches and you are on the wrong branch. M: Oh, dear. Will I have to go all the
way back? W: No, you needn't do that. You can get
off at Court Road and then take a central line train to Bank. It's the fourth
stop. M: A central line train? W: Yes, that's the one colored red on all
the maps and signs. You can't miss it. You'll have to remember to take an
eastward and not a westward train, otherwise you'll be further away than ever. M: I need a central line train and then
it's four stops. W: That's right. M: Thank you very much. Text
7 W: “Discoveries Magazine” is looking for a reporter to
travel all over the world and write adventure articles. M: Oh. It's a good job, I think. W: So you're interested in working for “Discoveries magazine”? M: That's right. I've never written a
magazine article, but I'm sure I could. I've written lots of articles for
newspapers. W: Oh? What newspapers have you written
for? M: Well, so far I've sold articles to the
Chicago Star and a few other newspapers. W: Have you ever written an adventure
article? M: No, I haven't. But I've done some
adventurous things to get information for my newspaper articles. W: Tell me about one of them. M: Well, once I wanted to report on
prisons, so I went to a store and stole something. Of course the police came, and I spent 10
days in prison. It was horrible! When I got out, I wrote two articles about my
experience there. When the public read them, they got upset and complained.
Since then the prisons have really improved. W: That certainly is interesting. Text
8 W: Mike, you look rather pale. Aren't you
feeling well? M: Not very. I was sick most of the
night. I didn't sleep very well. W: What seems to be the matter? Is it a
bad cold? M: No, I think it's something I ate. I
ate at that new restaurant last night, and I must have eaten something that
didn't agree with me. W: Did you eat at that new restaurant
near our school? M: Yes. Why do you ask? W: Because Jerry and I ate there last
week and had the same kind of problem. We were sick the next day, too. M: That's terrible. Maybe the health
departments should look into the place. W: That's also what I think. We'd better
telephone the city health departments at once. Text
9 W: Have you heard that the manager of the
computer company where Bruce works wants him to fly to Australia and work there
for a month? M: Yes. He will love it because
everything will be paid such as fares and meals. And this is his first time to
get out of the States. W: Indeed. You won't believe how much he
is looking forward to it. He is going to enjoy lying on the beaches. M: Who else is going besides him? W: He is going alone. M: When will he be leaving? W: He was told about it yesterday and I
think he will leave in a week. Text
10 M or W: Welcome to our school. My name is
Andrew Brown. I am a history teacher. I will give you a quick introduction to
the school before I show you around. Our school is called a “free school”. This means that the pupils
are free to choose what and how they want to learn. The school opens at 9:00 a.m.,
but the children can arrive when they like. Most of them are in school by ten.
Between nine and ten most people are in the living room and the kitchen
downstairs. Some of the children haven't had much breakfast so there is lots of
eating, tea-drinking and talking. This is a time when children and teachers can
work out what they are to do for the day. Now if you look through the
door of that big room, you'll see those children reading and drawing there.
Some have chosen to do maths. They are on the third floor with Miss Green. Four
of the older boys are now on their way to the Carorome to have their driving
lessons. Several children are in the kitchen helping Miss Cabell with lunch.
The children take turns to do this. They all enjoy doing this. After lunch it's
someone else's job to do the cleaning-up. This job is unpopular and many of
them don't like to do it. After lunch the children go on
with what they have been doing until 4:30. On Mondays and Thursdays the school
is also open in the evening until 9:00 p.m. On Wednesday afternoon there is a
school meeting. On Fridays we sometimes take the children to a cinema or a
museum. The school is also open every weekend for those children who want to
come.
