It was about six years ago.We were at senior high school. Those days in school were gray to most Chinese students because of the college entrance examination pressure. Not our parents and teachers didn't love us,but they loved us too much. Our only happiness was a high grade in the exam.
One afternoon after the final exam,we four girls came to a small wood and we felt it only belonging to us that afternoon. We talked and laughed. We played all the games that we could think of.We felt we were on the top of the world for the first time in our life.We totally forgot the unhappiness in our life and we threw the homework and the endless exams far away out of the wood.
In the middle of the wood ran a small and peaceful stream. Now and then,we could see some wild ducks on the water looking for food. The water weeds danced happily while the water passed beside them. The air was so fresh that we breathed it freely.
The sun had set before we knew it.We had to leave the place which brought us much happiness. We agreed to come back again every time we felt bored.
Years later,we went there several times. But,every time we went there to find that great feeling,we failed.Strangely, the feeling was different from that of several years ago.
I know that wonderful experience was just for once.We can never find that kind of happiness again which only belonged to the special afternoon in our life. That was a release of our uneasy heart. We can never go back to that young age or that simple life.It was our golden ages.No matter how boring and hard the life was,it gave us something worthy to recall. We'll treasure it forever.

These days, Americans worry most about an economic recovery that President Obama calls "painfully slow". But on Saturday millions will remember the day al-Qaida terrorists flew airplanes into the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington. Another hijacked plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania when passengers rebelled. Close to three thousand people died that day. Next year will be a big anniversary, ten years since the day Americans call 9-11.
But this September eleventh comes at an uneasy time. A large number of Americans say they oppose plans to build an Islamic center near the World Trade Center site in New York. This week attention centered on a Christian minister(基督教事工) with a small following in the state of Florida.
Reverend Terry Jones said he would mark the 9-11 anniversary by burning copies of the Quran(可蘭經(jīng)). He said he wanted to send a message to Islamic extremists. He said, "We are not hateful toward Muslims. We are not aiming this at Muslims, we are aiming this at Sharia law(伊斯蘭教教法)."
Political and religious leaders around the world had condemned him. The plan even led the State Department to warn American travelers to avoid places where protests(抗議) might take place.
President Obama said burning Qurans could endanger American troops and invite more extremism. Defense Secretary Robert Gates called Mr. Jones on Thursday to urge him to reconsider.
Administration officials called the idea of burning Qurans "un-American." But they also agreed that it would be within constitutional rights, like protesters who burn American flags. The Constitution guarantees free speech and bars the government from restricting the practice of religion.
小題1:According to this news article how many things made this September 11 uneasy? (No more than 1 word)
小題2:What did the State Department think would happen after Reverend revealed his plan? (No more than 4 words)
小題3:How did the government prevent the situation becoming worse? (No more than 9 words)
小題4:Why couldn’t the US government forbid Reverend to burn Qurans? (No more than 7 words)

After ruling the tennis world for almost five years, Roger Federer is adjusting to life at NO.2. But, like any king whose throne has been taken away, the Swiss star is already planning secretly his return to power, beginning at this week’s US Open.
The problem is, many experts think he will never do it. They blame everything from age and tough competition to his racket and psychology.
For years Federer, 27, had enjoyed the view from the top. Competitors saw him as undefeated, and for the most part he was. However, before the 2008 season began, Federer had an illness that stole his strength and clearly affected his play on the court. Ever since, he has struggled to return to form, winning just two of his last 14 tournaments.
“Twenty-seven is an age when your body starts talking back to you.” tennis great John McEnroe told the New York Times.
Pancho Sefura, another tennis great, noted that Federer is also facing a maturing crop of young talents. “There are too many great players now,” he said, naming Britain’s Andy Murray, 21, and Latvia’s Ernests Gulbis, 20.
US magazine Sports Illustrated tennis columnist Jon Wertheim suggested that part of Federer’s problem could be his insistence on using a small racket. He says that the smaller head demands ball control. But we see time and again that racket makers try to get players to use a certain stick — one they would like to market to consumers and it has a negative effect the professional game.
Sports psychologist Jim Loehr told the Times that Federer is probably feeling “a sense of doubt” after being considered as undefeated for so long. If Federer is to recover his state of being undefeated, Loehr said he must overcome his doubt. “Federer doesn’t need fame and money. But he has to get better. He has to go to a whole new level. That’s the only way he stays in the game,” he said.
As for beginning his first Grand Slam in ages as the NO.2 seed, Federer said it might be for the best. “Five years almost, I was expected to win every tournament I entered,” he said, “so maybe Rafael Nadal now feels what I had to feel for a very long time. It will be interesting to see how he handles it.”
小題1:What does the underlined sentence “your body starts talking back to you” in Para.4 mean?
A.Your body often argues with you.
B.You can do whatever you want.
C.Your strength is beginning to decline.
D.You are more easily to have quite terrible diseases.

A.he is becoming older and older.
B.he insisted on using a small racket.
C.he is facing a maturing crop of young talents.
D.he had an illness that stole his strength.
小題3:What can be inferred from the passage?
A.Now it is Nadal who has replaced Federer as the No.1tennis player.
B.the racket makers aim at the players’ better performance in games.
C.It is impossible for Federer to return to power.
D.Federer has never won a Grand Slam before.
小題4:What’s the best title of the passage?
A.Nadal — The No.1 Tennis Player
B.Federer — Always Undefeated
C.State of Mind Plays a Important Role
D.Federer Hopes to Recover His Magic

My husband, Tom, has always been good with animals, but I was still amazed when he befriended a female grouse (松雞). It's         for a grouse to have any contact (接觸) with people. In fact, they're hard to spot,       they usually fly off when they hear humans approaching.

As spring went and summer came, Mildred started to        more and more often.       Mildred felt comfortable enough to jump up on Tom's leg and stay long enough for me to get a        of the two of them together.
