It was pouring outside. We all stood there , some patiently;others annoyed nature messed up their hurried day. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens away the dirt and dust of the world.

“Mom, let’s run through the rain,” a girl’s voice me.

“No, honey. We’ll wait until it down a bit,” Mom replied.

The young girl waited about another minute and : “Mom, let’s run through the rain.”

“We’ll get wet if we do,” Mom said.

“No, we won’t, Mom. That’s not what you said this morning,” the young girl said as she her Mom’s arm.

“This morning? did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?”

“Don’t you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, ‘If God can get us through this, he can get us through .’”

The entire crowd turned . Mom paused and thought for a moment about she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. then, we heard, “Honey, you are . Let’s run through the rain. If we get wet, maybe we just need washing,” Mom said. Then they ran.

We all stood , smiling and laughing as they ran past the cars. Yes, they got wet. But they were by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the to their cars. Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, and they can even take away your . But no one can take away your precious . So, don’t forget to make time and take the to make memories every day! I hope you still take the time to run through the rain.

A好像;B即使;C因?yàn);D那樣。

故選A。

等了一會(huì)兒之后,小女孩又說了上文中提到的:“Mom, let’s run through the rain。

故選A。

面對(duì)小女孩“If God can get us through this, he can get us through ”的說法,媽媽停頓了一會(huì)兒在思考她該說些什么。故選A。

上文說:“Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. 毕挛哪赣H說:“Let’s run through the rain.”

聯(lián)系下文媽媽說的話“Let’s run through the rain. If we get wet, maybe we just need washing,”我們?cè)谟曛斜寂馨。

癟hen off they ran”然后他們就沖出去了。這是一個(gè)部分倒裝句,在以here ,there ,now ,then等引導(dǎo)的句子中,動(dòng)詞往往是be ,come, go ,run等時(shí),這類句子大多帶有引起注意的含義,故用倒裝。Ran off“跑開”故選A。

聯(lián)系后文a few who screamed and laughed like children,人群中也有人像個(gè)孩子一樣笑著、叫著,說明他們是跟隨著這對(duì)母女一樣。故選A。

The …to their cars.“人們跑向雨中去尋找自己的車”所以他們跑向的是通向他們車的路,故選B,way。

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can even take away your “環(huán)境和人們可以帶走你的物質(zhì)財(cái)富,甚至可以帶走…”

A孩子;B經(jīng)驗(yàn);C勇氣;D記憶。But no one can take away your precious memories。 If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything。

A可能性,發(fā)展?jié)摿;B機(jī)會(huì);C危機(jī);D挑戰(zhàn)。

The girl was hanging by her hands from the railings of a balcony(陽臺(tái)的欄桿). The balcony was on the twelfth floor of the high-rise block next to his. His flat was on the ninth floor and he had to look up to see her. It was half-past six in the morning. He had been awakened by the sound of an aircraft flying dangerously low overhead, and had got out of bed to look. His sleepy eyes, moved from the blue sky which was empty of cloud, empty of anything but the bright disappearing arrow of the aircraft, and then rested on the hanging figure.

He really thought he must be dreaming, for this sunrise time was the hour for dreams. Then, when he knew he wasn’t, he decided it must be a scene in a film. There were cameramen down there, a whole film unit, and all the correct safety precautions had been taken. Probably the girl wasn’t even a real girl, but a dummy(假人). He opened the window and looked down. The car park, paved courts, grass spaces between the blocks, all were deserted. On the balcony rail one of the dummy’s hands moved, desperately. He had to believe then what was obviously happening. The girl was trying to kill herself. She had lost her courage and now was trying to stay alive. All these thoughts and conclusions of his occupied about thirty seconds. Then he acted. He picked up the phone and dialed the emergency number for the police.

The arrival of the police cars and the rescue of the girl became the focus of talk for the people of the two blocks. Someone found out that it was he who had called the police and he became an unwilling hero. He was a modest, quiet young man, and was in relief when the talk began to die away. Again he was able to enter and leave his flat without being pointed at as a kind of St George and sometimes even congratulated.

About a fortnight after that morning, he was getting ready to go to the theatre, just putting on his overcoat, when the doorbell rang. He didn’t recognize the girl who stood outside. He had never seen her face. She said, “I’m Lydia Simpson. You saved my life. I’ve come to thank you.”
