Taking the dog to the beach on a hot summer's day is a great way to relax. But not all beaches are dog friendly. So if you're looking to take your dog to the coast this summer, here's a few of the country's most dog-friendly beaches.
Sunshine Beach
Where: Noosa, Queensland
Only a 10-minute drive from Noosa, Sunshine Beach also welcomes dogs with open paws. Once known as Golden Beach, its long white beaches make it a paradise for anyone who loves fishing, boating, surfing or just relaxing on the beach with family and friends.
Restrictions (限定): Dogs can freely explore the shoreline from Noosa National Park to the path leading from Seaview Terrace.
Tallow Beach
Where: Byron Bay, New South Wales
With white sand that stretches (延伸) for miles, and clean, clear waters washing its shores, Byron certainly doesn't want for beautiful beaches — and Tallow Beach is no exception. This seven-kilometer-long beach stretches all the way to Broken Head Reserve.
Restrictions: The beach's dog-friendly area starts near Jarman Street and stretches north to the outside of Arakwal National Park.
Muirs Beach
Where: Coles Bay, Tasmania
One of the few beaches that falls outside of Freycinet National Park, Muirs, is a great family beach that welcomes dogs, too. Compared to famous sheltered beaches of Freycinet, it is more open to the waves from the Tasman Sea, making it ideal for windsurfing. The beach itself is very long, so there is plenty of space to let your dog run free.
Restrictions: Dog owners must respect the environment and use the poop bags provided at the entrance to the beach to get rid of any dog waste.Fines apply (運用).
Yorkeys Knob Beach
Where: Queensland
Located just 15 minutes from Cairns, Yorkeys Knob Beach is a great spot to relax with your dog. Named after a local fisherman called "Yorkey" who lived on the rocky hill (“knob”), this wonderful little beach is one of the best-kept secrets in Tropical North Queensland. It is ideal for swimming and snorkelling in the summer season.
Restrictions: The southern end of the beach is the "dog off-chain" end where your dog is allowed to run free; dogs must be on a chain in all other areas of the beach.
小題1:What can we learn from the underlined sentence?
A.Tallow Beach is not popular in Byron Bay.
B.Beautiful beaches are not important in Byron Bay.
C.Tallow Beach is the most beautiful beach in Byron Bay.
D.Tallow Beach is one of the beautiful beaches in Byron Bay.
小題2:On Muirs Beach, if people do not get rid of dog waste,         .
A.it’s just fine to let it be
B.they have to clean the beach
C.they’ll get punished by paying money
D.they have to provide poop bags at the entrance to the beach
小題3:Which of the following statements is TRUE?
A.All beaches welcome people together with their dogs.
B.Tallow Beach was named after a local fisherman.
C.Yorkeys Knob Beach is a good place for windsurfing.
D.Dogs can run free only on some of the beaches mentioned above.

小題3:細節(jié)理解題 根據(jù)文章第一段說明可知并非所有的狗都可以帶到海灘上,要是帶狗的話要去指定的區(qū)域,所有A項錯誤,選D;文中沒提到Tallow Beach的命名,所有B項錯誤;根據(jù)最后一個表格中“It is ideal for swimming and snorkelling in the summer season”可知這里并不是風(fēng)帆沖浪的好地方。所以C項錯誤。

“REMOVE from friends.”
This is no ordinary button. One click and I have the power to erase a person from my life.
In late fall, I had around 400 friends on Facebook. Today, I have 134.
Click. Make that 133.
When Facebook first entered my life in 2005, I panicked(恐慌、擔(dān)心) that my friend count was too low. If I wasn’t properly connected, how would anyone see my clever quote(引語)? Who would wish me a happy birthday? I accepted and sent out friend requests without a second thought and soon accumulated 391 friends.
There is an appeal to being able to communicate with someone or just “thumbs(撥動手指) up” a photo rather than make real conversation.
“It’s comforting and it’s easy,” said Larry Rosen, a psychology professor at California State University, who studies the way people communicate online.” There’s a sense of belonging in it. It’s a sense of community in a generation where community has sort of (有點)disappeared.”
However, I don’t talk to half of these people in the online community. There are some I would avoid if I met them on the street.
Click. 132.
I decided to rid my account of any “friend” that…well, wasn’t. Sound easy? You try it.
Look at who you’re dealing with: family, friends, classmates, crushes(愛戀的對象), acquaintances…
With every click of the “Remove from friends” button, you risk burning a bridge, losing a contact and missing an opportunity. So every time I go to click the button, my heart hurts.
However, I’m not the only one who has experienced a Faceboook friend refreshing. The New Oxford American Dictionary announces its “Word of the Year” each year, and last year, “unfriend” made the cut (入圍) (though I’ll still stick with “defriend”).
When I started my mission(任務(wù)), a few friends joined. Most were surprised by how easily they could cut hundreds of connections without thinking twice.
“Oh my God, I defriended like 600 people today. I feel so good!” my friend Sarah messaged.
Dana, a close friend from high school, and I battled it out to see who could get our counts lower. She wins at 123.
To some, it’s poor “netiquette(網(wǎng)絡(luò)禮儀)” to defriend. But to me, it’s the stage of life when we hold onto the people who count, the people who impact you.
小題1:According to the article, what happens when you click the “Remove form friends” button?
A.A message is sent out to your online friends.
B.You accept someone as your online friend.
C.You send out a friend request to people.
D.The number of your online friends is reduced.
小題2:The writer worried about her friend count in 2005 because ______.
A.no one would wish her a happy birthday
B.it was the first time she had made friends online
C.she had only 391 online friends at that time
D.she was eager to make connections
小題3:What is Larry Rosen’s opinion?
A.People living in the same area are closely connected in everyday life.
B.Communication online helps people feel they are members of a group.
C.It’s easy for people to make and break new friendships online.
D.Today’s young people spend nearly all their time communicating online.
小題4:Which of the following is the best description of the underlined sentence?
A.I made new friends online while I removed some old ones.
B.Some friends cut the number of their online friends just like I did.
C.We competed to see who could remove the most online friends.
D.When someone removed me from a friends’ list, I removed him/her.

科目:高中英語 來源:不詳 題型:閱讀理解

The following are four books that will help you change your mind and change your life.
1) You Can Heal Your Life, Louise Hay: A groundbreaking book when it was released in 1982. It is still the book that I turn to when I have physical unrest that requires deeper understanding. Louise Hay is the pioneer in looking at the connection between the physical unrest that we have in our body and the emotional connection. At the time that she wrote the book many people scoffed at this idea, but it is now widely accepted and millions of people refer to it on a daily basis.
2) The Four Agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz: Maintaining a sense of reliability and faith is developed through understanding to The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz written in 1997. We are faced with rules and regulations; don’t do this, don’t do that, watch what you are doing, be kind, loyal, faithful etc. The four agreements represent a simple system of maintaining your own inner authority while practicing being a true person with other people.
3) Slowing Down to the Speed of Life, Richard Carlson and Joseph Bailey: This is a new one in my “bedside collection” and one that has made the biggest impact on me lately. Written in 1997, it is even more relevant today than it was when it was written. The idea of “slowing down” to get there faster was extremely hard for me to understand. As a human species we seem to enjoy moving fast and expecting quick results, especially from ourselves. I should be successful now, I should be slim now, get me to my destination now—in contrast to “in the fullness of time” when I am ready.
4) The Game of Life and How to Play It, Florence Scovel-Shinn: A classic book that was first published in 1925 and remains one of my favorite books of all time. Scovel-Shinn understood the power of our words to express either our deepest desires or our most horrible nightmares.
So where does this leave you? The way I see it is if you want to ‘Heal Your Life” then you had better learn how to play “The Game of Life” by learning how to “Slow Down to the Speed of Life” and keep the “Four Agreements”. The solution may not be easy to do but it is simple. In fact, most solutions are pretty simple, and it is us humans that want to complicate it.
小題1:According to the author, people who are lacking in personal freedom should read______.
A.You Can Heal Your Life
B.The Four Agreements
C.Slowing Down to the Speed of Life
D. The Game of Life and How to Play It
小題2:Which of the following books did the author read most recently?
A.Slowing Down to the Speed of Life
B.The Four Agreements
C.You Can Heal Your Life
D.The Game of Life and How to Play It
小題3:In which part of a magazine would you probably find this passage?
A.Arts & EntertainmentB.Reference & Education
C.Book ReviewsD.Self Improvement
小題4: In the author’s opinion, the four books _______.
A.offer four ways to change our life and mindB.represent four stages of life
C.represent four attitudesD.tell us four interesting stories
