I am a Senior 1 student. I often quarrel with my parents over that I can watch TV before school.
My parents held the opinion that I should study hardly so that I will have more choices in the future. Besides, they consider this is harmful to my eyes to watch TV too often, which is the chief cause of short sight. But in my view, it is TV that give me what I am interested. In addition, it may help relax my mind when I am tiring, in which case my study will be improved.
In the end, we reached a agreement. I am allowed to watch TV only at weekends. However, the programs are only news, sports and entertainment, but not TV plays. This agreement is acceptable to me, because that I can at least have some time to enjoy some TV programs.

3.held--hold

8.tiring--tired
9.a--an

故把that改成whether。
所以把before改成after。
本句為形式主語的考查,原句中真正的主語應(yīng)為to watch TV too often,它被放到最后,而主語部分為形式主語,只能由it擔(dān)當(dāng),故把this改成it。
疾楣潭ǘ陶Z:be interested in,意為:對(duì)…
此處意為達(dá)成一致,需加冠詞,但是agreement為元音音素開頭,需要用an而非a,故把a(bǔ)改成an。

Change is scary. 1. It can go hand in hand with the fear that we might hurt someone else if we think about ourselves. The truth is that you’re so much more courageous than you give yourself credit for and far stronger than you realize. Here are some ways that you can use to help yourself make the process of creating change more manageable.
Make change into small bite size pieces. 2. Remember that as long as you attempt to take regular practice towards your goal, such as eating more healthily every day, or walking twenty minutes a day, youre heading in the right direction to make changes.
Form a habit of keeping a diary every day. Writing a journal every night before going to bed can effectively help you cope with the emotional impact of the change process. Go to grab a pen or pencil and remember a journal is not for being neat and tidy with good spelling. 3. .
Rest is essential to success. Have a rest and take timeout to build your energy. 4. If we dont give ourselves time to rest, we just end up burning out by the constant striving and worry. As we dont have the energy to keep going, we have to give up!
5. Just accept it! I’m sorry to say that unless some people are really secure in themselves and truly happy in their own life, they’re never going to like your changes. This has nothing to do with whether they love you or not. They are just for self-preservation! Therefore, give them a little time to adjust and get used to it.

B. It’s not being lazy to have time out.
C. No one else is going to like your changes.
D. Don’t try to eat the elephant in one sitting.

F. Keep repeating your small steps over and over again.
G. It’s a private place where you can speak out your inner thoughts.

Here is something about Christmas. Every year just after Christmas the January Sales start. All the shops reduce their prices for two weeks, and they are full of people looking for bargains. My husband and I do not normally go to the sales as we don’t like crowds and are short of money as we have to buy lots of Christmas presents.
Last year, however, I took my husband with me to the sales at the large shop in the center of London. We both needed some new clothes and were hoping to find a television set. When we got to Oxford Street, it was so crowded that we decided to split up and meet again at the underground station. So I left my husband and started looking around the shops. Unfortunately all the clothes were in very large sizes and so were not suitable for me. But I did buy a television at a very low price, so I felt quite pleased with myself.
When I arrived at the station, my husband was not there. So I sat down in a nearby cafe to have a cup of tea. I quickly finished my tea when I saw my husband and went out to meet him. He looked very happy. Then I saw he was carrying a large and heavy cardboard box. “Oh, dear!” I thought. Yes, we had no new clothes but two televisions. We shall not go to the sales again.

Most young people enjoy some form of physical activity. It may be walking, cycling, or swimming, or in winter, skating or skiing. It may be game of some kind football, hockey, golf, or tennis. It may be mountaineering.
Those who have a passion for climbing high and difficult mountains are often looked upon with astonishment. Why are men and women willing to suffer cold and hardship, and to take risks on high mountains? This astonishment is caused probably by the difference between mountaineering and other forms of activity to which men give their relaxation.
Mountaineering is a sport and not a game. There are no man-made rules, as there are for such games as golf and football. There are, of course, rules of a different kind which it would be dangerous to ignore (忽略), but it is this freedom from man-made rules that makes mountaineering attractive to many people. Those who climb mountains are free to use their own methods.
If we compare mountaineering and other more familiar sports, we might think that one big difference is that mountaineering is not a “team game”. We should be mistaken in this. There are, it is true, no “matches” between “teams” of climbers, but when climbers are on a rock face linked by a rope on which their lives may depend, there is obviously teamwork.
The mountain climber knows that he may have to fight forces that are stronger and more powerful than man. He has to fight the forces of nature. His sport requires high mental and physical qualities.
A mountain climber continues to improve in skill year after year. A skier (滑雪者) is probably past his best by the age of thirty, and most international tennis champions are in their early twenties. But it is not unusual for man of fifty or sixty to climb the highest mountains in Alps. They may take more time than younger men, but they probably climb with more skill and less waste of effort, and they certainly experience equal enjoyment.
1. The main difference between a sport and a game lies in ______.
A. activity B. uniform C. rules D. skills
2. Mountaineering can be called a team sport because ______.
A. mountaineers depend on each other while climbing
B. teams compete against each other
C. it is an Olympic event
D. there are five climbers on each team
3. Mountaineers compete against ______.
A. each other B. nature
C. other teams D. international standards
4. Which of the following might be the best title?
A. How to Climb High Mountains B. Mountain Climbers
C. Challenging Sports Activities D. Mountaineering
