                                      B

Adventure races are such a huge challenge Aat when you enter a race, you always think,Am Iready? Did Itrain enough?” Iremember one race in particular,my very first Eco-Challenge and only my second race ever. (The Eco-Challenge race is a multi-day event where teams of four men and women compete non-stop over a 300-mile course which includes canoeing, horse riding, scuba diving, mountaineering, mountain biking and so on.) I have never felt that unprepared and frightened in my whole life. My background was cross-country running in high school and college where a two- or three-mile race seemed long. Most of my fear was due to lack of experience and knowledge. I really had no idea what I was getting into. I had done one 24-hour race that happened to be an Eco-Challenge qualifier(資格賽) . I was like a deer cawlit in headlights the whole way. However,we won the race and were invited to compete in Australia.

In preparation for that Eco-Challenge in Australia,I tried to approach my training in a methodical(系統(tǒng)的) way. But my approach consisted of simply trying to run, bike and canoe as much and as hard as I could. I was also working at the same time. Actually,I was training a couple of hours a day during the week to get fit and at weekends training with the team for perhaps four hours. That was how much I had prepared.

So,we went to Australia and entered the race. We didn’ t plan a 對ra紀gy (策略) at all,but just ran as fast as possible from the'start. It was a furious (緊張的) 36 hours. We arrived at a few of the check points in first place and were among the top five. But I knew we didn’t  belong there.

To cut a long story short, two of my teammates decided not to continue the race after just a day and a half. One was just too tired to carry on.Another had severe problems with his feet. The other two of us,feeling fresh still, had to drop out with the rest of our team. Four days later, watching the winners cross the finishing line was bittersweet.

   B. Because he knew his team could cross the finishing line.

                                      B

I'm glad I got to attend PRSSA's (Public Relations Student Society of America) National Conference in Philadelphia this year because it gave me the opportunity to get advice and insight (見解) from industry professionals. Newhouse (American publisher) brings in great speakers, but I don't always get the chance to go to the ones I want because of classes and other schedule conflicts. Having five days to focus only on developing my public relations knowledge base was great.

One of the sessions(會議) I enjoyed the most was about food PR. The speaker was very enthusiastic and gave helpful information on her day-to-day responsibilities and on the importance of choosing the person you want to work for,not just the job position.

Attending the different sessions also gave me insight on areas that I might not want to work in. The session on entertainment and public relations showed me that I do not have enough interest in the latest television shows and pop culture to work in the entertainment industry. All of the reality stars and movies everyone was talking about were beyond me.

Attending conferences also allowed our own PRSSA members to get to know each other better and become friends outside of meetings and work. We have a sort of PRSSA family environment where we always try to help each other.

To sum up,if you ever get the chance to attend a PR conference, whether regional or national,be sure to take the opportunity to do so. Conveniently,Syracuse University will be hosting a regional PRSSA conference on March 1-2 this coming spring. Don’t miss it!

25. The author's attitude towards PRSSA’s sessions can be described as.

   A. unfavorable   B. enthusiastic

26. It can be learned that PRSSA members .

   A. can benefit a lot from the sessions

   B. have to work out solutions to public issues

   C. compete with each other for good opportuni?ties

   D. can know their shortcomings from the meetings

27. The last paragraph is intended to .
