Many winters ago I was working at a college when a homeless woman came in wearing only thin clothes. She started as she sat down on a sofa in the student public room . Clearly, she wasn't well. Without too much about it, I went to the Student Affairs office where I knew I could find . in the "Lost and Found" box. I gathered her up all clothes and made my way . A co-worker told me I should not help this person. it would only lead to her wanting help. I ignored(忽視) her and carried on, the warnings.

Two weeks later a lovely elderly man came to my and asked to speak with me in private. , I gave him my full attention. He went on to tell me that he had overheard (無意聽到) the with the co-worker about helping the woman. He wanted me to know that it was always okay to help people, and that was he wanted to give me a check for $1000! I tears, because I really needed the money at the time, but also because I had been recognized in such a way helping someone! We became good friends and, twenty years later, he called me up and told me he wanted to help me my first home! He gave me$ 120,000 to buy my dream house in my home town.
