M: You always do a good job. Oh, I heard you’re selling your house. Why?

W: I’ve got new neighbors. They’re newly married and very noisy. They have a party every day, making me sick. I often have headaches during the day now, and I take medicine every other day.

M: Have you talked to them?

W: No. I want to call the police.

M: Oh no, Jessie. If I were you, I would try to build a friendship with them.

W: They never say “Hi” to me when we meet.

M: Why not say “Hi” to them first? And then tell them about your physical problems. Or you can call them directly.

W: Maybe I’d better write a note and put it on their door.

【題目】 Imagine possessing something that you loved so much. Imagine what it would feel like if you lost it. While that item may be something as simple as a toy, you would still feel very upset, but you could replace it with a new one. Now imagine losing something that you depend on for survival and cannot be replaced. That is what it would be like if we lost the natural environment around us.

Firstly, I believe the environment should be protected because it supports human life. One of the largest examples is that we get all of our food and drinks from the environment. If the environment were to be destroyed beyond revival, then the human race would be over in months. Scientists have to find another planet with similar conditions to the Earth, and if it's found, we don’t have the technology to get to that planet in time.

Secondly, I believe that the environment serves as an amazing educational tool for students. When I was in second grade, I had an absolute interest in animals. When we had a field trip to the Daggerwing Nature Center, I was very excited. When we got there, I could hardly believe what I was seeing. There was a bridge to get to the main building, and under the bridge was a small swamp (沼澤) with turtles, fish, and my personal favorite, alligators. I was so surprised that I almost ran into the tour guide. We walked into the building and saw various animals in their habitats. I was so inspired by this visit. Six years later, I have taken an animal behavior class for three weeks. Meeting by chance with the environment can inspire people, and if preserved, it will continue to inspire people.

In conclusion, the environment is so valuable because it can't be replaced, keeps us alive, and serves as a great educational tool.

【題目】Remembering names is an important social skill. Here are some ways to master it.

Recite and repeat in conversation.

When you hear a person’s name, repeat it.Immediately say it to yourself several times without moving your lips. You could also repeat the name in a way that does not sound forced or artificial.

【題目】 Many students want to know the best ways to improve their learning. Here are a few useful methods.

Focus

One of the best ways to organize your study session is to use the Pomodoro Technique. 1 The idea is to use a timer. Let's say, you set the timer for 20 minutes, and focus only on your studies during that time. You cannot check email, or do anything aside from your task. Test yourself

Interleaving

【題目】 Some people make you feel comfortable when they are around. You spend an hour with them and feel you are already close friends. They are always good talkers.

Here are several skills that good talkers have in common. If you follow the skills, they’ll help you put people at their ease, and make friends with them quickly.1

First of all, good talkers ask questions. Almost anyone, no matter how shy he is, will answer a question. One well-known businesswoman says, “At business lunches, I always ask people what they did that morning.2” From there you can move on to other matters—sometimes to really personal questions.3. Second, once good talkers have asked questions, they listen to the answers . Your questions should have a point and help to tell what sort of person you are talking to. And to find out, you really have to listen carefully .

Real listening at least means some things. If someone sticks to one topic, you can take it as a fact that he’s really interested in it. Real listening also means not just listening to words, but to tones of voice. 4

Finally, good talkers know well how to “say goodbye”.If you’re saying goodbye, you may give him a firm handshake and say,“I’ve really enjoyed meeting you.”5.Let people know what you feel, and they may walk away, happy and satisfied.

A.You can become a popular person.

B.You’d better change the subject if the voice sounds dull.

C.Don’t be afraid to say so if you want to see that person again.

D.Although the question is common,it will get things going.

E.It’s polite to listen to others with a smile.

F.And how he answers will let you know how far you can go.

G.These people have something in common.
