Dear Editor,

I’m writing to tell you about the discussion we’ve had on whether mobile phones should be brought to school. There are two different opinions on the question.

Sixty percent of the students think students can bring a mobile phone to school. It is convenient for a student who carries a mobile phone to get in touch with his/her parents and friends. On the other hand, he can also search for some important information on the Internet by the phone. Besides, it’s fashionable to have a mobile phone.

However, 40 percent of the students are against the view. In their opinion, with mobile phones, some students may have a chat on the Internet and spend much time playing games, which has a bad effect on their study and health. What’s more, one mobile phone may cost much money and it’s likely to be lost in the school.

As far as I’m concerned, students should place their study before other things and there is no need for us to use mobile phones. In a word, I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring mobile phones to school,

Best wishes

Yours,

Li Hua
