1an

2latest

3other/different

4while/though /although

5associated

6One

7what

8restrictions

9be broadcast(ed)

10for

3other/different考查形容詞。 很據(jù)people all over the word得知應(yīng)填differentother與之對(duì)應(yīng)。

4while/though/although考查上下文邏輯關(guān)系。 因此用while/though /although引導(dǎo)讓步狀語(yǔ)從句,引出所要敘述的fears and concerns.

.此處所填的空應(yīng)該作appear的主語(yǔ),其所引導(dǎo)的appears on the Internet又作賓語(yǔ)。

根據(jù)there are,此處應(yīng)為名詞復(fù)數(shù)形式。

此處為broadcast(ed)。

10for考察固定短語(yǔ) be suitable for

People are interested in eating raw foods or whole foods partly because eating these types of food reduces the risk of acid accumulation(酸堆積)in our body.

Raw and whole foods are usually digested more efficiently than cooked and processed foods. When we cook foods, we destroy the natural enzymes(酶)that are part of the food in its raw form. These enzymes were intended by nature to help us digest the food. When we consume food without these natural enzymes, our bodies either digest the food improperly or allow too many nutrients to be absorbed into the bloodstream. In both cases, the result is obesity. When too many nutrients are absorbed at once, the body grows fat.

Processed foods contain chemical elements, which might confuse the appetite system that tells us when we’ve had enough to eat; as a result, people often overeat. Processed foods also upset the digestive cycle. The body will either identify these foods as allergens and then store them safely away from the organs as fat, or the remains of undigested food will become acidic and enter the bloodstream as acid waste, which will stick to the blood vessel walls(血管壁)and block the passage of vital oxygen and nutrients heading for the body’s cells. The body’s metabolism(新陳代謝)becomes inactive, and the result is weight gain and obesity.

To stop this vicious circle in its tracks, people need to consume food and supplements that will balance the acid already accumulated in body. Eating the right types of raw and whole foods can help. It’s also important to restore our enzyme balance. We need to identify and avoid the foods that cause acid accumulation and consume the foods that increase enzyme production. If we truly want to change and help our body heal itself, we need to take an active approach.

1We can learn from the 2nd paragraph that __________.

A. it is essential for us to digest some fat

B. cooked and processed foods are healthier

C. foods with natural enzymes help us keep fit

D. absorbing many nutrients is beneficial to our health

2Processed foods will probably __________.

A. stop body’s metabolism B. be difficult to digest

C. destroy body’s cells D. lead to obesity

3The underlined word “ vicious ” in the last paragraph probably means __________.

A. harmful B. violent

C. progressive D. positive

4To change and help our body heal itself, we need to __________.

A. consume enough acid foods

B. identify enzyme production

C. avoid restoring our enzyme balance

D. eat the right types of raw and whole foods

Sometimes willpower is a lot like the television remote control—hard to find just when you want it most. 1 But there are ways to increase your willpower.

*Don’t try to change your economic situation, win a promotion or lose weight all on the same morning. Set one clear, specific goal and make a realistic plan to achieve. Extra willpower sometimes requires extra energy, so don’t spread yourself too thin. 2

*Whatever your goal is, don’t expect to achieve it overnight, 3 If you are trying to kick a coffee habit, start by replacing your morning cup of coffee with a glass of water, instead of promising never to drink coffee again. Congratulate yourself on the small achievements. These successes help your willpower grow.

* 4 Ask friends, family or colleagues for assistance and tell them exactly how they can help. If your credit card bills have risen, for instance, let friends know that you are cutting back on expenses. Suggest having a common dinner instead of meeting at an expensive restaurant. Find a support group or organization related to your goal and attend their meetings. You can get valuable advice, understanding and information.

*If possible, change your environment to encourage positive behavior. Want to get in shape? Keep an extra set of workout clothes in your office as a reminder to stop by the gym on the way home. Quitting smoking?

5

A. Real success takes time.

B. Focus on one goal at a time.

C. Change your to change your life.

D. Improve your willpower by a support network.

E. Changing your behavior requires more than willpower.

Too many people want others to be their friends, but they don't give friendship back. That is why some friendships don't last very long. To have a friend, you must learn to treat your friend the way you want your friend to treat you. Learning to be a good friend means learning three rules: be honest; be generous (寬宏大量的); be understanding.

Honesty is where a good friendship starts. Friends must be able to trust one another. If you do not tell the truth, people usually find out. If a friend finds out that you haven't been honest, you may lose your friend's trust. Good friends always rely on one another to speak and act honestly.

Generosity means sharing and sharing makes a friendship grow. You do not have to give your lunch money or your clothes. Naturally you will want to share your ideas and feelings. These can be very valuable to a friend. They tell your friend what is important to you. By sharing them, you help your friend know better.

Sooner or later everyone needs understanding and help with a problem. Something may go wrong at school. Talking about the problem can make it easier to solve. Turning to a friend can be a first step in solving the problem. So to be a friend you must listen and understand. You must try to put yourself in your friend's place so that you can understand the problem better.

No two friendships are exactly alike (相同的). But all true friendships have three things in common. If you plan to keep your friends, you must practice honesty, generosity and understanding.

A. there are too many people who want to make friends

B. those who give others friendship receive friendship from others
